I wish I had the self restraint to do so but as a science captain primarily my options are limited for tier 6 so I will wait on stats and cross my fingers that there are skins for it :p

Funnier still is that the rage was towards a ship developed by and/or with the actual ship designers for the Star Trek TV show and movies.

It's also funny that people raged that Starfleet is still fielding Miranda and Constitution class ships in STO and now raging that SF's ship designs aren't stodgily sticking to the old TNG/VOY/DS9 design language.

You don't have to do anything in the game that you don't want. Never let stats or min maxing get in your way of fun. If you feel the ship is uglier than a boil on the bottom of a baboon, then don't play it. That's how I felt about the new Avenger class (I say new avenger class because there was already an avenger class star cruiser, the class of which they renamed so they could use its name on that horrendous pile of dookie they managed to foist onto the punters.) And that's why I don't play the Avenger class. It looks like it was designed by a playskool employee who didn't particularly like Star Trek. I don't care if all of its stats are 9999999, you won't catch me in it.

So if you think the Dauntless is hideous, don't drive it. If you drive it, anyway, voicing your opinions about its looks are simply vexatious and superfluous lamentation.

Best option is to just drive what you like and bollocks to stats.

Which is a future timeline - and if there's a single lesson from the many iterations of time travel in Trek, it's that future timelines are mutable.

I mean, the DS9 kitbash fleet is canonical, and has a greater claim to immediate canonicity than Dauntless, and I don't think anyone here cares to see most of those ships show up.

I have no problems at all with all canon & soft canon Starfleet ships being in the game. Add the Abramsverse ships and the Voyager Full Circle fleet (legal department permiting) to the game for me as well.

My immersion won't be impacted in the slightest by someone fighting next to me in a Tier 5U Connie, DS9 Kitbash or Perfect World Precursor. IDIC & all that. B)

We've got one clear example of the Wolf 359 kitbash series - The Cheyenne.

And I don't want my previous statement to indicate my distaste for all kitbashes.

There are several that I find rather fetching. I'd like to see New Orleans and Springfield make it into the game.

But there's an upper-limit on these. Particularly the kitbashes shown in DS9's run.

The provisional-names that are applied should be some indication that these things were even less meant to be examined than the TNG ones.
