Re: Crystal Desert status

March 30 2014
Important question to leader and all members: "The ones who want to transfer to another server, are they 100 percent representing the guild since day one?" I notice there are players who wants to be in the guild but don't represent the guild at all time which really should not have anything to say or suggest about the transfer. I represent the guild 100 percent everytime I log on and I think players' opinion like myself should be above other who do not represent the guild or contribute to the guild achievement.
If leader decided to move, who will fund the transfer for the guild and members? Keep in mind what server ranking fluctuates and if we did transfer to another server, will move again if we feel the same as of this time again? Tranfers will never stop when we are unhappy?
Kome transfered because of "drama" with another guild. What is our true reason for the transfer? Achievements are all the same for all servers and it has nothing to do with the server ranking. Thank you.

Some thoughts:

So if the guild moves for the few WvW individuals will they fund the transfer for the guild members? A transfer at $20 or more doesn't guarantee that the server transferred to will be any better. And then the whole factor of which server.

I really enjoy WvW when I play it. The only thing that does put me off is how often CD is out numbered. There's nothing worse than being 1 of only 15 people from our server when the others have almost 30 each.

hmmm I accidentally voted NO and can't seem to change my vote to YES. I take no responsibility for my actions at 4AM! At any rate, I'll try to share my thoughts later.

I wanted to vote "no" but I've voted "yes" to counter-act your mistake. Let me know if you found a way to change your vote so that I didn't screw it unfairly. :)

How to fly faster - Diplomatic Immunity

March 30 2014
So, I like the Tour the Galaxy mission because I get some EC and can do some assignments from various corners of the galaxy :)
I'd like to fly faster so I aim at the MACO set doing Borg and Omega marks stuff right now. I guess a good Warp Coil will give a boost too.
The three questions I have:
1. Is there anything else I can do to make my ship faster in Secotr Space?
2. Is there a way to reduce the cooldown time for QSD? I think it's two minutes for me right now;
3. There is this ability "Grant Diplomatic Immunity" but I realised I will be able to GRANT immunity, I won't HAVE it. How can I ask someone to grant it to me and how does it work? Let's say, I'm in Sector Space and... what then?

I hope there wasn't any thread like that and the possible answers will be of use for other players :)

Re: Server Transfer

March 30 2014
I don't World vs World any where near as much as I should (because I love it but often don't want to commit to the time sink) so It's probably a little unfair for me to make the argument one way or another when some of our membership spend most of the time in The Mists however I did vote no.

I think one of the problems with the unbalanced nature of World vs World was the free-movement which we used to enjoy in the early days. Everyone jumped ships to the most popular and successful servers leaving some servers ghosts towns.

We are a mid-table server and being there can be very disheartening because we'll probably never be able to challenge the top boys but if we do move we are contributing to the eventual demise of our first home.

That said I can't ignore the benefits to the "fun" factor moving would have on our membership and totally understand peoples desire to do so.

I will move if the guild decides it so.

Re: Server Transfer

March 30 2014
A quick note on the cost of transfer. Transfer once every seven days at a cost determined by the destination server.

Tournament pricing (March 28-May 30, 2014) Region World Rating* Transfer Cost (gems)

NA 13-15, and 22-24: 1000 Gem.png
NA 4-6, 10-12, and 19-21: 1400 Gem.png
NA 1-3, 7-9, and 16-18: 2400 Gem.png

Prices will be based on rankings at the start of the tournament, March 28.

Q4: Can my guild fight other guilds in Space PvP with our Guild Flagship?

No, this Digital Expansion does not include a PvP combat experience for Guild Flagships. More information about Guild Flagships will be revealed in the coming months.

The way I read the FAQ, this expansion will be purely cosmetic. That said, I'd guess space PvP would evolve in a future expansion to include guild flagships.

That question was raised in the FAQ but no definitive answer was given. The usual way they handle such questions....heaven forbid they should give away any information before they want to make a big splash announcement about it. ;)

Server Transfer

March 30 2014
I'm getting Mail and whispers about transferring servers. I personally only think that server transfers benefit those who are playing GW2 for the WvW. That's the only part of the game that you are restricted from when it comes to server so I would understand the unhappiness with CD when it comes to the current state of WvW. I am not the only voice of Stonewall and we listen to all our members so I am creating this post for everyone to share their thoughts and the server of their choice if they want to transfer. I am also including a poll to see where we stand.

Excellent write up Eurrsk! I've always thought Star Trek tried to highlight the best of what we are as a race and look toward a bright future. Of course being a tech geek, how could one not love the idea of a real holodeck some day! :)

Thanks! Indeed! one of the very reasons why I love it so much! :D If they made a holodeck one day, I would probably never leave it lol! ^^;

SamRonin79#2737 should be my Battle.net tag yeah. Hopefully the boxed games will arrive Saturday and then I can see about getting into it properly on PC as well.

Edit: They did arrive lunchtime so spent an hour or so grinding before work. Still only L11 Monk, but I am set up for RoS now.

Amended above name to add the #number in.

I had a rough childhood. When I was 1 year old, my dad left. My first memories are of being homeless and living in shelters. At 10 I was thrown into foster care. I saw my first episode of Star Trek when I was 12-13. It was an episode of TNG and I fell in love. The show gave me hope that there was a better future out there for me. I know it sounds silly. I remember first seeing VOY when I was placed into a group home for troubled youth. I hated the place. The other boys were abusive and mean and the staff were no better. But VOY was like my little escape to another world. A better world.

Awwww, Tony ;_; *huge hug squeeze* It's not silly at all. Star Trek did the same for me too, escaping into this better world, and showing that there was hope. :)

I am to all intents and purposes a scientist and i think Star Trek and its depiction of science in general definitely had a role to play in that. So considering this is the career i will likely spend the rest of my life working in, i would call that a fairly big impact.

I totally agree with you on that. That's really awesome ^^;

Part II: Inspiration to Science & Technology

Another essential part of Star Trek’s futuristic universe was all the cool advanced technology they used in the show, many of which inspired technologies we use today.

Ion propulsion, featured in "Spocks Brain" from The Original Series,inspired NASA’s Ion Propulsion for their Deep Space 1 mission & future satellite programs.

The Phaser also inspired the United States Air Force’s dazzler weapon known as the PHaSR, which stands for Personnel Halting and Stimulation Response, which can stun a target temporarily using a low-density lazer beam. So remember to set phasers on stun!
