May'Qep Event - 5th May - Kling - O - Vision

May 05 2019

Our First place story! by Vo'leron@Akrilon

*clears throat*
Your great-great grandfather massacred those who stood their ground;Your great grandfather ate the hearts of his enemies on the battleground;And your grandfather made a name for your house at the Battle of Ferasan;And your father abandoned all of that to become a council man.

As for you my boy, you don't know what you're ever going to do;Not a kill to your name, not even a single Klingon caribou;
No skill to maintain the honor your ancestors bestowed upon you;No lure to attract a regular mate and no great bed for them to jump into.

Your great-great grandmother, she birthed fourteen brave warriors;Your great grandmother conceived another ten - it was glorious!

And your grandmother had three as soon as she came of age;But your mother only had you because that's all she could afford, living on a governor's wage.
As for you my son, you change partners all the time;
Not a single familiar companion to stand with you during war time;But there are mornings you wake up, feeling shameful and sad;For not maintaining the honorable house, gifted to you by great grand-dad.

Your great-great grandfather wielded only the finest blade;
Your great grandfather crafted his own mek'leth out of materials that wouldn't degrade;
And your grandfather's d'k tahg struck the hearts of many Nausicaan renegades;
But your father's bat'leth earned him zero accolades.

As for you young one, the only honor for which you sometimes yearn;
Will be found in the stack of papers on the desk of the bureaucratic position that you earn;
Filing grievances from conquered races and doing them all good turns;All while tending to the needs of the subservient worlds that our real warriors have upturned.

But your great-great grandparents, they knew how to celebrate;
Your great grandparents would feast on Kolar beast with the neighbouring state;Your grandparents would sing great opera and the neighbours they would captivate;Your parents would go to the best dance clubs on Qo'noS - that's where they went on their first blind date.

As for you my friend, it's the weekend and it's time to be up-beat;
Get out from behind your desk and cancel your booking at the local holosuite;
ckily for you, some things in Klingon life refuse to change;
So dust off your kut'luch and let's go hunting for some Grishnar at the local wildlife range!

Huzzah!!  Hope you liked it!

Second place goes to GXV3@GXV3

Hello Klingons, and hello kiki... im calling from new romulas...
can i just say what a wonderful show it has been tonight, and kiki your dress looks lovely
This song is a nursery rhyme i heard when i was a child from my uncle...
it goes something like this....
my bloodshakes bring all the boys to the yard
That way, Ill never be on guard
I tie them up nice and tight
youll know it will last all night
they will scream and shudder
they will take it like no other
If they scream they will get a whip
So dont scream and thats a free tip
this is not a crime, and your not on trial
bend over baby, im gonna make you smile
By the end they will walk with a limp
they will always be my gimp
The end

Third place goes to Calscius@yaris8
A romulan is one of few words
But I shall say this

for there is no greater house
than house of Nagh reD
so Now we all go to Gareth's bed
thank you

And finally an honourable mention, Halkulath@Halish
There once was a warrior from Q'onos
Who had a lovely tight butt
I fought with him in battle
and removed his body from his foot
We fought a few more times
And eventually he won

He proceeded to chop of my foot

It was all in very good fun!

We both had lost our best foot
and we both had lovely tight butts
and together we limped into battle

hop hop, hop hop, hop hop.
When we were old and grey
We realised we were gay.
Our battles had long past
We were together at last
For each of us had one foot
but together we both had feet
THE END!

Stonewall Meetup: Destination Star Trek Birmingham

May 05 2019
Hi all!

Just a little message to say those in the UK there is a star trek con at the NEC in Birmingham on the 25th - 27th of October, and a couple of us were going to go have a look around and then also turn it to a little meetup for stoneies!

So far me and WiredGuy are going on the Saturday to have a look around so if you want to pop down and come say hi that would be awesome!

Cal mentioned it to me last year so maybe we can see him too

If you wanted to meet up then can just discuss it on this thread or we can set up a dm or group chat about it.

Thought it would be a cool ball to throw out there for those that cant go to vegas in the uk?

If you wanted to have a look at the webpage / book tickets heres the link http://www.destinationstartrek.com

Or if you just wanted to come and go to spoons that is good too
😂

-Lots of love, Kieran

Stonewall Screenshot Challenge

May 05 2019
Captain's log, supplemental.

I've been to the furthest reaches of the most undesirable places, traipsing through swamps and sloughs, filling my boots with mud and slime to enter this screenshot challenge. I've mingled with the most undesirable of villains throughout the galaxy and have traveled to the past to fix tonics and elixirs, toasting people who have long since expired. Having used all of my leave, I'm returning to my ship exhausted, hoping to find a good holodeck program to run once my duty-shift ends.

Thank you to @Chipz416 and the entire morale department for putting on this fun event! When I first saw the long list of challenges, I just about fell off my chair. There were so many challenges and so many needing team work to complete that I was kind of daunted by the tasks, but it brought together the best in everyone, getting us all together to meet the challenges! I really had lots of fun and can't wait for next year's challenge!

Captain's log, Stardate probably much too late:
We finally managed to cross the whole galaxy on our hunt for memorizable moments of Stonewall's space-faring history. Our starship blew up several times, but we kept her together. We fought many species we never heard of or we had not seen before, and we visited places we never would have imagined they exist. We did it, finally. Perhaps somebody will see our pictures someday and like them. Conn, set a course back home, we have history to deliver!

I had a lot of fun with you guys, even if some of you apparently think wind farms on Tatooine are a thing, which is kind of embarrassing. Almost as embarrassing as, say, a little font mishap that makes it obvious someone had to look up how to spell "Tatooine."

Thanks to @Voleron not just for a really fun trivia game, but for remembering today was Star Wars Day long before I did and letting me run with it. And more thanks to everyone who showed up -- I had a lot of fun, and not just during the parts where I was torturing everyone with impossible scavenger hunt clues.

Hear, hear!  Thanks @Trick for running this for the community!  Although I was awful at it and circled Tatooine for the better part of 45 minutes looking for a wind farm, the scavenger hunt was great!  Thanks for making Star Wars day a success!  Haven’t seen that many guildies in SWTOR in a long time and really enjoyed my first Flashpoint!

Star Wars Day

Episode MMXIX

A New Challenge

In celebration of Star Wars Day, a varied group of heroes

was presented with a challenge: Locate 20 objects located

across the galaxy, and photograph them for fun and prizes...

A list of these objects will follow, along with point values.

Most of these items have an "Easy" mode and a "Hard" mode,

indicated by square brackets. Acquiring a photo of the hard

mode will provide more points than easy...

Example:

A Sith lord [with respiratory problems]

Easy mode photos would include any Sith lord, but the points

for Hard mode will only be awarded if the Sith in question

needs to use some sort of breathing apparatus...

You will have one hour to collect as many photos of these

objects as you can. Once that hour is complete, you will have

one additional hour to gather up and submit your screenshots

for scoring...

Targets can be found on any planet accessible to both

Republic and Imperial players, though many might also be

found elsewhere. Rules do not prohibit teamwork, and if

you find a target you are welcome to tell other players

about it, either in-game or in Discord...

We recommend leaving your UI on for the purposes of these

photos, since some challenges require specific targets which

can be identified by their nameplates...

Screenshots can be taken, with default settings, by pressing

your "Print Screen" key. Your screenshots, on PC, will most

likely be located on your primary hard drive under:

"Documents/Star Wars - The Old Republic/Screenshots"

Gather up your screenshots by selecting all of them, then

right-clicking on one of them and use:

"Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder"

You can then send this compressed folder to imtrick@gmail.com.

If you do not wish to disclose your email address, you can use

http://wetransfer.com to send it. Be sure to include your

in-game name or Stonewall website ID so we know who the

screenshots belong to...

These instructions will be posted to the Stonewall website in

the "Star Wars Day Party!" thread shortly. Winners will be

announced after judging is complete...

The list of items to photograph is coming up. Good luck, heroes

of the galaxy!

The Scavenger Hunt may have been inspired a bit by the screenshot contest in STO, but it's going to be better because there are no comets involved.

Stonewall Screenshot Challenge

Now hear this, now hear this

My dear fellow Fleetlings,

The deadline of the Stonewall Screenshot Challenge 2019 is slowly approaching. This means that on or before tomorrow, Sunday 5 May 2019 at 18:00 UTC (check the deadline for your time zone) your results should be sent in. Here's a short friendly reminder of how we want to receive your submissions. You should make a screenshot of each challenge you performed and name the file in the following manner:

[Challenge number]_[your handle].jpg

For example, Chipz416 makes a screenshot for Challenge 34. He locates the file and renames it to: 34_Chipz416.jpg.

Save and bundle all the images you made so that you can submit them all in one go and upload them all to https://wetransfer.com/ for delivery to SGNMoraleDept@gmail.com.

Several of you fantastic people have already submitted their screenshots and have by now received a confirmation mail that everything has been received by the Department of Fleet Morale in good order. We expect to receive a large amount of files tomorrow, so we hope to count on a bit of your patience in receiving our confirmation email. If you have not received a confirmation mail before, Tuesday 7 May 2019 at 18:00 UTC, please send an email to SGNMoraleDept@gmail.com for further support.

All the submissions will be evaluated as soon as possible after the event ends. Depending on our personal agendas, the amount of submissions, and the total amount of screenshots we need to check, this may take several days. Once that is done, the results will be announced on the forum in this thread.

We hope that you all had a fun time participating in the event and spent some quality time with your fellow Fleeties on a quest for a comet, posing in orbit of New Romulus, or putting your shiny dancing shoes to good use!
