Captain's log, supplemental.

I've been to the furthest reaches of the most undesirable places, traipsing through swamps and sloughs, filling my boots with mud and slime to enter this screenshot challenge. I've mingled with the most undesirable of villains throughout the galaxy and have traveled to the past to fix tonics and elixirs, toasting people who have long since expired. Having used all of my leave, I'm returning to my ship exhausted, hoping to find a good holodeck program to run once my duty-shift ends.

Thank you to @Chipz416 and the entire morale department for putting on this fun event! When I first saw the long list of challenges, I just about fell off my chair. There were so many challenges and so many needing team work to complete that I was kind of daunted by the tasks, but it brought together the best in everyone, getting us all together to meet the challenges! I really had lots of fun and can't wait for next year's challenge!

Captain's log, Stardate probably much too late:
We finally managed to cross the whole galaxy on our hunt for memorizable moments of Stonewall's space-faring history. Our starship blew up several times, but we kept her together. We fought many species we never heard of or we had not seen before, and we visited places we never would have imagined they exist. We did it, finally. Perhaps somebody will see our pictures someday and like them. Conn, set a course back home, we have history to deliver!

Wish I could do one of those fancy things some people around here can crank out with their eyes closed, but here's a little public recognition for the awesome victims participants in the Star Wars Day Holographic Scavenger Hunt:

I had a lot of fun with you guys, even if some of you apparently think wind farms on Tatooine are a thing, which is kind of embarrassing. Almost as embarrassing as, say, a little font mishap that makes it obvious someone had to look up how to spell "Tatooine."

Thanks to @Voleron not just for a really fun trivia game, but for remembering today was Star Wars Day long before I did and letting me run with it. And more thanks to everyone who showed up -- I had a lot of fun, and not just during the parts where I was torturing everyone with impossible scavenger hunt clues.

Hear, hear!  Thanks @Trick for running this for the community!  Although I was awful at it and circled Tatooine for the better part of 45 minutes looking for a wind farm, the scavenger hunt was great!  Thanks for making Star Wars day a success!  Haven’t seen that many guildies in SWTOR in a long time and really enjoyed my first Flashpoint!

The deadline of the Stonewall Screenshot Challenge 2019 is slowly approaching. This means that on or before tomorrow, Sunday 5 May 2019 at 18:00 UTC (check the deadline for your time zone) your results should be sent in. Here's a short friendly reminder of how we want to receive your submissions. You should make a screenshot of each challenge you performed and name the file in the following manner:

[Challenge number]_[your handle].jpg

For example, Chipz416 makes a screenshot for Challenge 34. He locates the file and renames it to: 34_Chipz416.jpg.

Save and bundle all the images you made so that you can submit them all in one go and upload them all to https://wetransfer.com/ for delivery to SGNMoraleDept@gmail.com.

Several of you fantastic people have already submitted their screenshots and have by now received a confirmation mail that everything has been received by the Department of Fleet Morale in good order. We expect to receive a large amount of files tomorrow, so we hope to count on a bit of your patience in receiving our confirmation email. If you have not received a confirmation mail before, Tuesday 7 May 2019 at 18:00 UTC, please send an email to SGNMoraleDept@gmail.com for further support.

All the submissions will be evaluated as soon as possible after the event ends. Depending on our personal agendas, the amount of submissions, and the total amount of screenshots we need to check, this may take several days. Once that is done, the results will be announced on the forum in this thread.

Do you guys know if SWTOR has a free floating camera for screenshots like Demorecord?

Maybe a more generic terminology? Admins or leaders and moderators or support staff for any future expansion, so the membership can see the who is who and who does what, so questions and support can be directed to and from the right people? Just a thought, though I know most of the leadership help each other out which is cool.

Cool now that I have that out of my system, sorry it's an OCD thing as I like organising things and naming conventions. I do apologise if I sound a bit stubborn, I don't mean to be. Just offering an opinion.

Oh is the Fleet Captain application a generic form or are they tailored to what department you want to apply for?

So this event idea kind of came together very quickly - I was thinking of your screenshot contest request when Trick and I put this together.  Were you looking for a screenshot challenge like what's happening in STO right now, with having to complete as many challenges as possible, or were you looking for something simpler, like the coolest screenshot wins?

I'll try to answer both of your questions:

Community Calendar

While we don't have a community calendar per sé, we do keep our events listed in the following places:

• This site -> Forums -> Events.  All of our past and current events are listed there in order of recency
• Discord.  All active events are posted in the announcements channel on the SGN server
• Our Steam group.  Our community events are scheduled there on the group's calendar
• Facebook and Twitter.  We advertise all events leading up to event day
• In Star Trek Online in the in-game event calendar UI. STO specific events shows up when you open the fleet holding window
• In Star Trek Online in the message of the day.  STO specific events are posted in the MOTD when they're upcoming

Ideally, we're hoping to integrate events into a calendar on this website in the future, so that there's a one stop shop to all of the community wide events that's easier to get to at a single glance.  I'm open to suggestions on how we can improve our event advertising while the website component hopefully comes together, but in the interim, I hope that I'm doing a decent job getting the word out through all of the above platforms.


Discord Ranks

The reason we went with officers and senior members on our Discord server, as opposed to Admirals and Fleet Captains, is that we have a presence in games other than STO, including Star Wars: The Old Republic, Guild Wars 2 and others on a more casual an informal basis.  We wanted those roles to make sense to not only our STO membership, but also to our members from outside of the Star Trek franchise.  Our on-going goal is to continue to expand our community beyond just Star Trek Online, so as to ensure sustainability when STO's lifespan eventually comes to an end.

Like I say, we're definitely open to considering or examining feedback and keeping our ears open to the opinions of the wider membership with that, and if there appeared to be a large consensus, we could potentially look at making some changes there.  Hope this helps to address your questions and explain our thought process behind that all!
