Re: X needs an Invite

Just need to know Elquin's faction. Is he Republic or Imperial? I think QiqJoe is probably going to get you invited before I do but if you miss him, just send one of us a PM to let us know when you plan to play (Not sure how you keep up with all the games you play, I can barely keep up with 2...) and if you are using the F2P model or if you subscribed. It, unfortunately, makes a difference in what we have to do to get you in the guilds. That way I at least will know when I need to log in to send you an invite.

Welcome to SWTOR, I think you will enjoy it. :)

It might be gauche to bump a thread, but I think it would be great if we got a lot of entries. We have some talented designers in this group.

Just to remind youse guys, but your commandeering a forums post regarding the vesta, not the blowing up of one.. lol

If you both wish to settle the blowing of things in PvP.

Have fun.

Re: Introducing: House Champion

Those are all great ideas, many of which have been discussed and are currently being discussed. Nothing is set in stone regarding the future events at this time though based on Fleet member feedback we may look to incorporate other forms of competition.

A timed foundry mission is a good idea and so is a trivia event but both can be rather time consuming to set up, especially on a monthly basis, but rest assured, the Department of Klingon Affairs means to provide glorious activities that are challenging and enjoyable. For this first event we aim to take people out of their comfort zones, put there money where their mouths are, and show us that they deserve the honored title of House Champion though glorious battle! :cheer:

Chapter One - Escape, Continued

I quickly scanned the western part of the colony, there were no life forms...anywhere. I grabbed J'Renner's arm and started running through the fields in the direction of the west landing. More drones surged around us but couldn't seem to find us as we ran. Suddenly, behind us there was a crash and a huge explosion. It knocked us forward and to the ground. As the dust settled I opened my eyes to find out where J'Renner had landed. He was a few meter's away and appeared to be unconscious. I crawled over to him and pulled out my scanner. He was alive but unconscious and had some damage to his back and head. I quickly repaired the damage and pumped him full of Anetrizine. I was about to wake him when a drone approached. It swooped down and grabbed me carrying me up towards the monstrous ship lurking above. Something from the drone stabbed my arm and I slipped into blackness...

I opened my eyes it was dim and everything around me was fuzzy. I couldn't move very much but I was not restrained. My body ached and my head was pounding. I squinted trying to make out where I was. There was a mist surrounding me and it looked like I was sealed in some sort of pod. Tall shapes with pointy heads lurked outside of the pod just barely visible. There was an explosion not far off I could tell as the flash of light burned my eyes. The shapes looked in the direction of the explosion and took off in that direction. I could see energy discharges like that of a Disruptor or Plasma rifle. More shapes passed in front of my pod heading towards the energy weapons fire. I passed out again the pain in my head sending waves of torture through me. When I woke up again it was bright and my surroundings were different. I felt okay just a little groggy. I turned my head and there he was on the bio bed next to me, J'Renner. I was relieved to see him there. He was awake and resting. He must have seen me turn my head as he turned his to meet my gaze. He sat up and called the Doctor over.

The doctor juiced me with a hypo and ran some scans. "You're okay now, we can move you to some more comfortable quarters." and then looking at J'Renner said "BOTH of you!" He helped me sit up and explained to me that my friend had refused to leave sickbay until I was well enough to as well. A rather stern looking Romulan entered sick bay to escort us to quarters. The Doctor, a rather ominous looking Romulan handed me a pad. I walked to the exit with J'Renner walking behind me. We followed our escort down the corridor and not far for the medical bay to our temporary quarters. He pointed to the first set of doors and motioned for me to enter, then to the second set for J'Renner. I entered but left the doors open and scanned the room. It looked quite comfortable by Romulan standards. There was an attached room for sleeping and hygiene and this main room was spacious with a desk, a table and chairs and a huge couch the followed the transparent aluminum window line. I went into the sleeping area and sat on the bed. Realizing I left the entry doors open I got up and went back to close them. There was J'Renner standing in the doorway. I invited him and closed the doors behind him, motioning for him to take a seat on the couch.

"How long was I out. My memory of the past few hours.." I was cut off.
"Weeks." He stated
"Weeks?" I asked
"Three weeks to be exact" he stated.

He went on to explain the ordeal we went through while trying to escape the planet. He further explained that the Elachi had taken us to their ship and were performing various experiments on us. A task force had been formed prior to that to figure out what the Elachi were doing. He had not been as damaged as I had but was in pretty bad shape. He also said that my memories would come back at some point and I would remember EVERYTHING. He told me the horrifying events that he'd remembered and was prepared to help me through them once they came back to me.

If someone were so inclined, we could create a Foundry mission for a House Champion competition that we could run from time to time, if we wanted to.

Re: Introducing: House Champion

I'd like to official offer my help (if there is ever a need) in helping with this or any other KDF themed event.

My question was regarding future events for the House Champion, not the presently announced ones. Can you say if there will be non PvP House Champion events at some point going forward? I'm very excited about the program, I just hope it includes a range of gameplay and KDF fandom. I have a few ideas I'd love to discuss. If you'd prefer that to be public or private, let me know.

Many of those ideas have been considered but for this first event if will remain strictly PvP. Any feedback is appreciated and will be given serious consideration for future events. :)

Any chance this might include contests other than just pvp? like timed mission runs, scavenger hunt, trivia. Maybe a collection of contests all having a kdf theme?

That build is pretty good that cptdavid has suggested..

What I had done with my Intrepid build are.

Weapons:-
Fore: Fleet Antiproton Beam Dmg2 Acc2x2 and Wide Angle Quantum Torpedo.
Deflector:- Borg MkXII
Engines:- Borg MkXII
Warp Core:- Fleet Elite
Shield:- Borg MkXII
Aft: Fleet Antiproton Beam Dmg2 Acc2, 360 degree Antiproton Beam and Kinetic Cutting Beam.

E/Console:- Fleet Neutronium Mk XII x2 Fleet Monotanium Alloy Mk XII
S/Console:- Particle Gen (P) Mk XII Graviton Gen (B) Mk XI Particle Converter (Nukara), Borg Module
T/Console:- Antiproton Mags B) Mk XI x2.

I will provide pics of my skills later to show what I have got my skills set up in.

Re: Looking for ideas for a Tact Vesta

December 06 2013
Forgive me if I ramble a bit but I'm drunk as I write this. I've just had many a cocktail

Let's see.

Skill set up: I woudl suggest the following:
1. Lt Cmd Eng: EPS1, RSP1, EWP 1
2. Esng tact: TT1
3. Lt tact: TT1, CSV1
4. Lt Eng: EPS1, AuxtSIF 1
5. Cmd Sci: TSS1, HE2, TBR2, GW3

The combination of tactical team, EPS1 and RSP will mean that no mean PVE generated ship will kill you. In fact even PVP you'll be tough. It means that you'll be around longer to do more CC and more DPs.

The combination of GW3 and TBR2 means that you will be doing heaps of direct to hull damge. With the correct doffs this can be even more devastating (see below).

The other skills also give you a good heal base to support your team mates, or yourself if you're ever in a corner.

Equipment: What you've got is ok but can be better. I would suggest that you keep the aux cannons. I mean it's a vesta...you've gotta have aux cannons...they're the only DHC that run off aux power. Personally I use torps but hell I shoot people not massive hulls of PVE ships. For survivability I would use the borg deflector and borg impulse engines. The bonus heals are great. For the shield I would use either the MACO that you have or the fleet shield.

The rear weapons are debatable. Remember that their damage will be not very great as all your power will be diverted to aux (see below). Other options which I suggest is the 360 degree antiproton beam which you get with the new Dynson sphere mission - this allows you to at least do subsystem targeting. Yes whilst it is antiproton in nature you're not wanting to do damage with it...you just want to sabotage critical systems. The rest of the aft weapon slots I would suggest the turrets you have or mines - eg the romulan tractor mines are really annoying and good if you're aiming for CC

For consoles I would suggest:
1. You must max out on your particle generators - I would have a minimum of 3 fleet particle generators (shield or hull heal). Ideally five but then you can't slot the special vesta consoles which are fun.
2. I would get the tachyokinetic converter console. Remember that with DHC you have a a 90 degree firing arc so you need your ship maneuverable to bring your weapons to bear.
3. The phaser consoles are fine
4. I would strongly suggest the plasmodic leach console since you are running an energy weapon build
5. Hanger - yellowstones!!!!

Energy levels: 100 aux, 50 eng, 25 shields, 25 weapons

Doffs: This is where the power comes from. But which ones you get and what you use depends on your play style/needs of the game.

To keep the uptime of your CSV up I woudl run 1 or two energy weapon officers that decrease the cool down of cannons special attack. I would also suggest you get for the GW, deflector officers (ideally 2) to decrease cool down time. If you are going to run TBR as I suggest, I STRONGLY recommend you get the new Voth doff which turns the push into a pull ..... think about it....mines and EWP and pulling all the enemy ships into the plasma ....evil +++++ With 3-5 particle generator consoles also your damage will be DIRECT TO THE HULL 1500+ per second. Other doffs to consider - doffs that celanse debuffs everytime an emergency power to X is activated. Doff that increases RSP time. So many choices.

Skill tree: I'm sorry but it's a lot to type....basically I would recommend you have 9 in particle generators and 6 in graviton generators. Max out maneuverablity, energy weapons and things that make you move fast. Left over points put into things that boost power levels like warp core potential. I would always recommend a few points into power insulators to insulate you against enemy drains, armour and sensors and internal dampners.

I hope this helps. If you have any quesetions please ask. Better yet look me up in game...there;s nothing like testing your ship against a real person

TNG had many moralistic 'lessons'

TNG also had a godawful amount of soap opera episodes centering around Troi. Old square britches was my absolute least favourite part of TNG.

I swear if I ever am flipping stations and land on TNG with Troi flopping around on a wire harness shouting "Where are you?!" I'm going to flip out.
