Crystalline Catastrophe Event

April 10 2013
First, read this.

http://sto.perfectworld.com/blog/?p=859041

Second. OMG phasers ready! (Unless you're a cannon kinda guy/gal.... In which case, well.... You get the point)

The Stonewall PVE department will be going full board on hosting the Crystalline mission during said timeline.
Keep an eye on this thread. A schedule has been posted in the admirals office (via briefing room).
Or go here:
http://fleet.stonewallgaming.net/forums/admirals-offices/58705-the-office-of-pve-combat-operations

The more of us online at one time, the more teams and runs we will be able to make as the mission requires 10players.

Since there will be two teams of five per mission, team chat will be limited to your own team.
The PVE department encourages all members to download Ventrillo. Follow instructions in the welcome center. Although vent is not mandatory, it is highly recommended.

See you all in space for some Crystal butt whooping.

To be honest, I thought that 250k ECs was very cheap. B)
I'd be willing to spend something between 1 to 2.5 million ECs for it.

We may or may not see a signature store update before the Romulan faction launches. The backgrounds currently available can be color shifted to a more green or Romulan looking background. The default colors in each background option are easily modified, and in fact, often are for each order I fill. I think that the existing ones would easily be adapted for Romulan toons.

Although I do want to provide more border, background and text options, the resources department has a lot of other services we're working on providing the fleet and more time spent in the signature store unfortunately detracts from those other terrific projects!

It's on the list of things to update and I'll do my best to provide additional options before the add-on launches, though I can't make any promises or provide any timeline for updates quite yet.

Additionally, I'll likely be adjusting the cost of forum signatures. While a base model or basic size two signature will still be available for 250,000 EC, the time investment in a signature of Chipz, Andrew, Iccarus or MacIntosh's quality will likely see a price increase to provide the department a more worthwhile return on the time invested. This will allow fleeties with less cash to their name to still purchase something within their budget, while those who want something a little more extravagant can choose to make a more expensive purchase.

The money raised again, goes directly back to re-stocking the fleet banks weekly, something that will see soaring costs with the potential addition of Romulan centric fleets to the Stonewall fold.

I put it to you all, as you're thinking about new Romulan signatures... how much EC would you be willing to part with for a signature of the quality of the ones listed above?

By the way i dont know about anyone else but i will be needing a new one in a little over a month from now, in the green range, if you know what i mean. So start thinking of some options, a little less human, or klingon for that matter.

Continue coins are a complete waste, so don't bother. As brenus has pointed out, you can exit the instance and re-enter after death without the need of a continue coin. I've been running the instances with all 8 of my alts to collect bauble bubbles from the boss chests. I wanted to gear up all my characters with pretty skins =)

If you dont mind spending some zen look into the gorn ships they are usually more science focussed than the headbanging klingons :D

I just want to extend a big "thank you" to all the members of the morale department and everyone else who helped to make this event a success! Running three days of back-to-back events has got to be a lot of work!

I had a great time participating in all of the events today! Thanks to everyone who participated!

KDF is certainly not geared for sci. I've got 25 toons, and KDF Sci is the only faction/class combo I never bothered to make. Thats being said, the temporal science vessel is really the only Klingon (notice I didn't say KDF) science ship.

I will put my half cent in:

When I first started playing KDF I had a science, but I hated all of the ships. I got so irritated by this I deleted my KDF science and made a KDF engineer. This story will not help you at all, but I like to type so I thought I would share it. :S

It still irks me that my KDF Science captain is flying a raptor, in that I've not found a good science boat to alternate into. I've tried using the Vo'Quv, but the abysmal turn rates and inertia are abysmal. And while I have specced up a BoP to do rude things with Gravity Wells, I know first-hand that a BoP does not survive a horde of angry spheres very well.

I've thought about a Varanus, but short of the Fleet version, the stats just don't seem there (and what I've seen around, the Fleet-V isn't in the same tier as the rest of the fleet ships). I've been looking off-hand at saving for the Korath or possibly the Kar'Fi. (I'd say the Recluse, but something about the boff spread looks strange, for all that the pets are scary.)

Any thoughts/experience with science-y KDF boats in general, or these boats in particular?
