Hey everyone!
I'm currently playing a smuggler and wanted to know if anyone had some advice. I'm in the sharpshooter spec but for some reason I tend to not be able to kill mobs fast enough and my companion usually dies. I was wondering if anyone had any success with another spec or suggestions for me. Currently I'm only 24 but any advice is greatly appreciated!-

Gunslinging, especially sharpshooter, gets so much better in the later levels. The abilities from that tree speed up drastically and it becomes a struggle to use them fast enough in the end. You'll get an ability called speed shot which is going to be your bread and butter from that point on. Learn to love it! Also Leg Shot never works the way it is supposed to so don't waste the points on the skills. I am still working out a good rotation. If anyone else has any advice as to the best rotation for gunslingers to use let me know as well.

I actually stopped playing my smuggler scoundrel healer at 30 and have been having trouble going back to him. Partly I've never been a huge healing fan, partly for the reasons you mention, partly who knows.
But I too have been thinking of respeccing him to dirty fighting for a while to try him out that way.

Gotta love the this title, not sure if folks are trying to collect titles but there is one from Esseles you can receive by choosing the darkside options.
I have a Jedi Knight who headed down the dark path and is lvl 22 that I can run guildies thru Esseles and as long as you do not make a selection at the appropriate time we can get you the title.
Post here if your interested. Anyone can come as long as you can get into the instance so level is not an issue, I think you have to be at least lvl 10 to get into the instance.
Please note this will not give you dark side pts, so no need to worry if this will effect your light/dark side standing.
If there is interest I'll go ahead and post times when we will run thru the instance. We need at least 2 individuals and I'm willing to run as many times as needed.

Try refreshing the page when it does that. I know myself and other members have had that issue and it does get added it just hangs on the please wait screen. Once you refresh it the characters tend to be there.
We had a forum topic on adding a character but I for some reason am not being able to find it at this very moment.
It's always the ones right under the nose that get lost. The thread about adding characters is here. It is stickied at the top of this forum.
What Jon said is true: Even I get the endless "please wait." Once it pops up, give it a few seconds, then hit refresh and you should see your character was, in fact, added.

As previously stated, it's nothing new. For those of you who can remember getting a brand new 8 bit nintendo box in your hot little hands as a kid, you'll be keenly familiar with the disparity between the box art and how much it actually has to do with the actual gameplay.

Marketing and Ads haven't been about the reality of things for quite some time if ever. It's all about making the product your trying to sell/promote seem interesting and make you think it's what you want.
The point of Marketing isn't exactly to outright lie to people, especially when you're promoting a game. It's about bending the reality of the gameplay to make it look interesting to the kinds of people you want playing your games.

For realz, yo. That end scene with the two borg cubes sounds so dramatic, until you actually play the game and realize with that many fed ships, that battle would last 2 seconds, 5 if I go get a coke and autofire on.

I am having a very hard time capturing a screen shot. Print screen just creats a black box when I hit it.
You need to change to 'windowed mode'. In the settings there are two switches dealing with this. You need to change one of them. Print screen doesn't work in dialog mode.

For real. Have seen the new F2P Trailer? It's really awesome, but has little to do with the game whatsoever. It shows off stuff that isn't normal gameplay at all.

I TOTALLY agree with DakonKor's description of "how things are" in game. I particularly like how he describes the pure idiocy of the running back and forth to turn most missions in. I think SWTOR devs probably kept this in for a majority of quests because it's simply a way to "extend" content. If they allowed you to "holocall" all your quests in, just about everyone would have completed all the game content within 1-3 days of the game release. I think my particular complaint has to do with the cost of EVERYTHING! From increasing your inventory size by ONLY 10 spaces for 5000 credits (what's a credit anyway?)the first time, then it costs 20,000 credits for another 10 spaces. (I don't want to think what exponential increase will be used for more than that :angry: )to the cost for just "learning" the ability to ride a speeder much less the cost for an actual speeder. GEESH! I have most of my toons to level 20 and lose almost half of what I managed to earn through missions just training a couple of new abilities each level. I fully expect to not be able to get a speeder because of the cost for everything else. Hopefully, I will be totally surprised when the time comes and find out it is all doable. Not looking good at this point though. :(
I wouldn't get so worked up about the cost of inventory slots and mount training. The entire point of these is to create "money sinks" so that you have something to spend your credits on. In STO, I have MILLIONS of energy credits and nothing to buy. I'd much rather be living "paycheck to paycheck" in TOR so when I can afford something it has more value since I had to work for it.
If you really need some more credits, my C2N2 has been busy running crew missions for me so the ship is getting a bit dirty; how about putting on a maid outfit and... :P
