U dont need the active sub, nor the website (and hence the waiting room).
The launcher will update automatically when you're allowed in.

Same here. Refresh everything, try the launcher, play Spider Solitaire, repeat. At least until I have to get ready for work. If I had gotten access this morning, not sure if I could've resisted taking a sick day. :D

In my experience alliance websites are always pretty dead as everyone favours their own particular guild and as such I don't think it would be worth the time and effort to set one up.
As for the alliance chat room, if it's possible it would be worth doing but they don't work like normal chat rooms in my experience. There's a reason people join different guilds, it's because they have different rules and different play styles. Throwing everyone into the mixer together would create a whole load of problems and some "You can't tell me what not to say" drama.
Alliance chat rooms are good if you can keep them to important information like "KoS raid need 3 more" or "Sith attacking western gate!!!"
I love alliances but nobody should be expecting a utopian society just because we are all GBLT :)

I'm reading the posts and as a former raider (WoW of 7 years) I'm always amazed at what emotions Loot brings about. I've seen loot tear thru a raid team and destroy friendships.
I've been in every system possible from dkp, prioroity lists, officers deciding on who gets what and random rolls. Eventually everyone gets the items they want.
These are your guild mates your running with not some pug that you found standing around a space port.
I understand loot is important but loot shouldn't be the only reason for raiding.
I honestly hope they go with "everyone gets a bag at each boss kill". That would eliminate any problems with loot.
