Bummer, well, I hope it is not as difficult to download as the last time I downloaded the game, it got stuck on an asset.

You'll be able to patch it if you only download the game last week. If you where in beta previously they recommend a full re-install.

Oh fiddle sticks. I was in last weekends beta as well as one earlier in the month. So it sounds like I'll have to uninstall and reinstall the game closer to launch.

Edit; I'm a goof, need to do a full install anyways as I have a new gaming computer coming this week. Oh well.

Re: Calling All SW:TOR Crafters!

November 30 2011
In most mmo's I like to craft and work hard to get my skill to max. I usually pick a craft that I can use on a majority of my toons. I tend to play a lot of alts so eventually I end up with all the skills.

So far in beta I've F up all my crafting, picking gathering skills that do not go with the crafting skill I choose. LOL But it was beta and the perfect place to make mistakes.

Question: What crew skills most interest you?

The ones I think are fun don't go with each other. Oh well such is life.

Question: What questions do you have about crafting in SW:TOR?

I'm still fuzzy on crew skills, aren't those your crafting skills? example if I go Armstech aren't my crew skills scavenging and investigation? I like diplomacy but found that it was only useful for biochem. so picking a skill based on the name wasn't the smartest thing I did. :)

I'll probably start my first char with something I think my toons could use, example: smuggler I'll probably go Armstech, with my trooper I might go biochem. since this last beta I did a bit of research and figured out what goes with what. :) I love your list and have saved it to my files.

Question: Do you consider yourself a "hardcore" crafter or more of a dabbler

I guess I would consider myself a hard core crafter, I see this as part of the game and fun in game. Yes I bitch about it while doing it but I do like it.

Question: What resources would you like to see on our web site to support crafters?

I love links to useful resources on any part of the game, also quick guides posted on the forums that I can turn to for basic information without having to go anywhere else.

Question: Are you you interested in offering your crafted items or gathered materials to other guild members?

If I have extra crafting stuff that I'm not using I don't mind offering them up to guildies. Having more folks with maxed skill provides a bigger pool that helps everyone in the guild. I also will make anything in my patterns list for anyone.

Re: Calling All SW:TOR Crafters!

November 30 2011
Aldente, thanks for the post. I was crafter in Stonewall in STO. But, I've essentially stopped playing STO for various reasons. However, I do plan to invest significant time into SWTOR and look forward to many parts of it including crafting.

I only got to play for a short time this past beta, but in response to your questions from my limited knowledge about SWTOR crafting:

What questions do you have about crafting in SW:TOR?

I think you answered part of this in your original post. I think knowing more about all of the different professions and knowing which ones go together best will be very important.

Outside of that, I am curious to know if we will have a shared guild bank for items?
Also, will there be a commission type system or will everything go on the broker if choose to sell it?

What crew skills most interest you?

I'm not sure I know enough to even answer this question.

Do you consider yourself a "hardcore" crafter or more of a dabbler?

In STO, I had 3 toons that were maxed in crafting, 2 feds and 1 klink. You can infer from there.

Are you interested in offering your crafted items or gathered materials to other guild members?

Absolutely! I think the setup and intentions used in STO could very easily be adapted to SWTOR. Isn't helping each other why we're a part of an awesome group? I even think we'll have a STWOR store to sell items to non-guild people once things get settled and organized.

What resources would you like to see on our web site to support crafters?

Infromation is key. You posted torhead.com which will be a great start. I think write-ups and links to information sites would be great. Having a site that categorizes the professions would be great. I do know that some professions are true crafting professions and some are crew skills that allow your companions to go off on missions to gather things.

I hope this helps!

Yep, tried out Jedi Knight first, then Sith Warrior and finally Sith Inquisitor. The Inquisitor was VERY fun. Loved my horny red devil.

Game play also seemed better and more fluid with the Inquisitor.

Eventually, I will try out all the classes with Light vs Dark to find my perfect character.

After 7 years of raiding in WoW my desire to raid in any mmo has greatly decreased.

I'm willing to help anyone get raid ready, we can run instances, crafting what ever you guys need to get you there. When your in the raid I'll sit on the sidelines and cheer you guys on! :)

I am with Van on this.. I have been playing MMOs since Day 1 of EQ, so I not a real "End Gamer" I love being social and the pure enjoyment of the interactions with the guild.. I will craft all the gear you want, that I am making, but that will be my contribution to raiding.

As for helping people get ready to Raid.. I am in, I love to run instances and help new or very casual players catchup... Put my on the social committee

There must be something wrong with me because I can not bring myself to make dark side choices, or even to play as a Sith. If I played as an Emprire toon I would be a good Bounty Hunter.

You know it's funny I had a similar issue, playing a male Sith toon I projected myself into the character and couldn't bring myself to be evil. Was sparing people left and right.

But then this weekend I made a female Sith Inquisitor and loved being evil and frying inferior pathetic whelps with my lightning. Mwahahaha!

So yeah, guess I'm weird. lol

I will say I found myself with the same issue.. I tried so hard to stay Dark all the way, but the were a few choices I just couldn't do, and I think a couple choices that I never expected to be "Light"

I'm starting Sith but I may go Republic later. (Probably Smuggler. Or Trooper, "..it's a frickin' minigun!")
I digress. When I project into characters I want to help people...by killing slightly worse people. So being a Sith and channeling that anger into killing said slightly worse people will be deviously enjoyable (don't judge me  ).

Hey folks. I signed up early in the year but haven't been back since then. Been beta testing and loving the game. I preordered and Im looking forward to December. Now I'm at the point where Im deciding what to do guild wise and such as many of my WOW friends are being very stubborn about joining the game. I'm looking to make some new friends here. In addition, maybe a couple that want to level up one or two toons with me. Since Im in Los Angeles and work M-F from around 9-6 and have the gym or tennis right after that, Im looking for someone who wants to game around 9:00PM Pacific Time and sometimes on either day of the weekend. Id prefer someone to game with that is mature and not looking to power level. Someone who is not high strung either and isn't afraid to sometimes try the PVP scenarious or PVP Lakes even though we will be on a PVE Server. Most of the time, I prefer PVE but I need my PVP fix too :-). If any of you are interested, let me know. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. :-).

Hey man,
I'm over here in Singapore with a flexible work schedule... 9pm for you would be around 1pm for me, and I wouldn't mind someone to hang with after the rest of US has gone to bed haha...

I've played WOW previously as well and since my guidmates won't be coming over, I'm on my own as well and looking for new gaming buddies... Used to PvP extensively in WOW and would be open to experiencing that again... At least, to dabble in it heh...

Cheers!

Hey, thanks for responding. I'm more of a PVE guy, I just like to be able to do some PVP as well because it keeps things interesting when you are playing different playstyles. I just don't want to disappoint you if you are expecting PVP to be the primary with PVE the secondary. For me its the other way around, but I need both. So yea, if you are interested in giving it a go, Id be up to trying it with you. How do I reach you so we can figure out how to coordinate this when release gets closer? The only negative about being in another country is that I can't just text you and say, hey, Im going into the game now are you free tonight? lol. Each text would cost money :-). Maybe you have an iphone or ipad with facetime? lol

Oh... don't get me wrong, I much prefer the PvE game as well... In fact, I foresee spending most of my time finishing every damned quest (I'm a completionist)...
Just like you, would like to explore some PvP from time to time, but it's something I would do more as a "hobby" or to "shake things up a bit"...
I have an iphone AND and ipad so you can always Whatsapp me, probably the best way to keep in touch... I also typically spend a lot of time on vent if there's people there to chat with... I'm not overly talkative tho, just nice to say things like "hey man, it's over here" or "help I'm dying!" rather than type it out...
Just go ahead and send me a private message and I'll send ya my phone number so you can add me to your list :)

November 30 2011
I'll be likewise going the Smuggler Scoundrel route for my main. Healers were definitely in demand this past weekend, especially for Heroic quests.

My 2nd alt will be a Miraluka Jedi Sentinel. I rolled one up and he was fantastic. The sight (no pun intended) of a hunky young Jedi Knight without sight using dual light sabers in combat was sheer poetry. *swooooon*

I've done some endgame raiding in WoW as a tank, and (upon finding a class that I enjoy), I'd love to do some endgame content with you guys.
My schedule is admittedly terrible though, so that's always an issue with me (plus schoolwork!) :( As long as it's casual raiding. Hardcore raiding is impossible for me :P

LOL - same here. I was hoping someone forgot to turn on the "block weekend testers" switch.

I was disappointed that I didn't get a chance to run around with some Stonewallers during the test, but it's just as well. I'm usually on the slow track when it comes to learning new mmo UI's so it was like the first day of school for me. At least I'll have some semblance of knowing what to do when the game goes live, though!

This past beta I went Jedi knight on the dark side and I must have inner evil thoughts cause most of what I would choose was dark side points.

but back on track for teh topic. I'll be playing a Sith Inquisitor at some point as they are very fun to play.

Just my nickle and dime on the West Coast server.

I live in Wasington DC and I've always played on a West Coast Server in WoW and Rift. There was never an issue with the server time, we always formed grps up for instances and raids with folks from all different time zones joining in.

As Halish said try not to focus on the "west coast server" verbiage. We will have plenty of events running that everyone can join no matter there time zone.

We are just 2 and a half weeks away! Woot!

Naming Reservations

November 30 2011
So my friend Derek asked me very kindly to try to reserve the name he would like since I will have early access and (even though he preordered) he won't because gamestop didn't have any preorder codes to give out.

It made me think about others wanting the same thing.

Perhaps, not only as a guild, but as a group of very close friends, we could do the same thing for each other. :)

In this thread we could post a name that we would like to reserve, just in case someone can get into the server early early early and grab it up for us. In the first post, we could have users and name(s) they'd like to reserve; then, once the game is launched, anyone who can grab the name could either PM them here in the forums or post to say it's been reserved for them. :)

What does everyone think? :)
