Oh no about the charactor creation. I'm one of those that spends a lot of time fiddling with the features of each toon. I disliked WoW's creation since it was very limited. And the nameing thing you mentioned scares me as again I spend hours picking names, I already hav a list of 15 names I like and will be ordering them for Sith and Republic toons. Ugh!!!!!!

Oh well. ./sighs

And yes...Alts! ;)

Thank you all for the kind words!

As an anticipated member of the Republic Army, I wanted to make sure the Knights wasn't lead entirely by religious zealots ;).

In all seriousness though, Stonewall has been a great community to participate in, both when I actively playing STO (and may still if the F2P launches with a few changes), and as a forum lurker. I am really excited about the opportunity to help give back.

Those of you who are participating in Beta know we have currently *may* have a few "conveniences" missing that we rely on in games like STO. As we get closer to Early Access and Launch Day, I have a few ideas I'd like to run by the other Officers; ways to help us organize groups on the 4 separate faction tutorial planets so that we can all fully participate in the group-related content that leads up the main faction's starting planet. That's when all 4 classes on each side can finally start grouping together.

If you didn't already know (the information is freely available from BioWare), Force-sensitive users have a different tutorial planet than non-Force users on both sides of the Imperial/Republic divide. This complicates matters for folks like me who had planned to level up a character in lock-step with, at the very least, my-husband-to-be (15 days!), who will be playing a Jedi.

 Okay. I've rambled on waaaaaaaaay too long.

In short: Thanks again, and I can't wait to see you all in a Galaxy Far, Far Away.

Just a note... the article says "Early Game Access will be granted according to when your Pre-Order Code is redeemed..." That's different from 'when you pre-ordered.' So if you've pre-ordered but haven't registered your code on the site, you better do that immediately.

And Angelsilhouette, if neither you or your friend have registered your code, you might want to do that at the same time, and that could fix your problem. But I agree with the other guys: ALTS!!!!

I redeemed ages ago, but he preordered with gamestop and they didn't give him a code.

Yes, the Phantom is very reminiscent of the Naboo Royal cruiser. You just know the artist who created the Phantom drew their inspiration from it. Too bad I have no interest in the agent class. :S

Speaking of the Empire. Are we going to be able to have Imperial alts on the same server as our Republican ones (never thought I would look forward to being a Republican)?

I would like to announce the promotion of DakonKor to Officer! He will be in charge of Galactic Republic Affairs.

DakonKor joined the Stonewall Community 9 months ago to play Star Trek Online with us and has been an active part of the community since. Since becoming a member DakonKor has joined The Stonewall Times as a Senior Editor in charge of Star Wars: The Old Republic content and producing the pdf release.

When TOR launches, he plans to be playing both Trooper and Smuggler classes.

Please join me and congratulating him on the promotion.

Congratulations DakonKor!

Not being in the beta, therefore not bound by the NDA, I have seen the character creator, and have to admit that I am profoundly disappointed with it.

This is just one of a few areas that SW:TOR feels like a step backward from some of the things you expect in modern MMOs. Even the naming restrictions are pretty archaic. That's not to say I couldn't create a half-decent character, but the creator is definitely closer to WoW than STO and certainly nowhere near CoX or CO.

That's not to say it's a bad game, just... disappointing in a few "less important" areas... but areas that will be niggling annoyances to people who love to craft their character (and names) with great care. I guess the one good side is that each class has a distinct voice for each gender (e.g. the Inquisitor has a different voice than the Warrior).

There are a few areas like this that provide enough (at least in my personal opinion) archaic and outdated "weaknesses" that they seemed to have torn from previous MMOs "just because" SW:TOR is an MMO. I think some of the MMOs coming out shortly after SW:TOR that are really working to truly revolutionize the genre are going to be able to capitalize on these to some extent.

I think the coolest aspect of the Star Wars universe is hyperspeed. I can remember going to see Star Wars when I was like 6 or 7 and thinking it was so awesome when the Millenium Falcon jumped to hyperspace. In all the subsequent films I always love it when they make the jump to hyperspace. Such a fun idea being able to travel anywhere in the universe in a relatively short period of time. Even the smallest of ships can have a hyperdrive, like Amidala's silver cruisers in the prequels (loved the sound her cruiser made when it flew into Coruscant... before it got blown up). I do love all the new (or should I say old) ships we will be getting for SWTOR as well, but they aren't as slick as those Naboo cruisers. Oh well, looking forward to flying with you all in the near future!

The Imperial Agent's ship is up there with the Naboo ships in my book. She is a beaut. I may like assymetry when it comes to graphic design, but I want my ships sleek and symmetrical. Not the biggest fan of the Republic ships. My least favorite of the designs is the one I'm stuck with because I can't wait to play a Republic Commando.

Re: Anyone Beta Testing?

Weekend testers will have their own servers that are only up for those times. Leviathan will be up, but it is my understanding that weekend testers will not have access to it.

Leviathan and Cosmic Turbine are the PVE servers that are the beta servers up all the time(except when they crash)

I have a smuggler - Doogiegood
