Congratulations to the State of New York for doing the right thing and affirming that the US Constitution means equality for all. Iowa sends you her regards.

I'm so happy right now. In a proud and historic moment for the great state of New York and the country, our State Senate has just passed a Same Sex Marriage bill. Same Sex couples will now have the right to marry in the state as well as have all of the same benefits and rights that other married couples now have. In 30 days the LGBT community will finally have marriage equality in this state.

New York is now the largest state in the nation to have passed a Same Sex Marriage bill. This is a step in the right direction! I'm proud to be a New Yorker right now!
