Video Cards/Gaming

May 27 2011
I currently have an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT video card with approx total memory 1650mb (according to Dxdiag)

I have 4gb of Ram and the processor is Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 ghz. OS Win 7.

Is anything letting me down, spec wise, when it comes to gaming? When I play STO my computer sounds like its going to take flight.

Any comments mucho appreciated. Cheers me dears

That kinda behaviour is illegal here in Canada in "publicly accessed" areas...

I totally read this wrong and thought u meant that gay men kissing was illegal lol

I was gonna say, in the film 'Joe's Big Adventure' Joe had no problem kissing men in public in Canada... thats not all he did haha ;-)

LOL

I probably could have been more clear with my comment. But, I'm glad you figured out what I meant! ;)

Episode 283 - The Next Generation - "All Good Things..." - 5/23/1994

Parts 2-6:

Found from the above link in the related videos section

Picard finds himself alternating between three time periods thanks to Q, with a spacetime distortion that threatens to destroy reality growing larger in the past, and smaller in the future.

Enjoy!

NOTE: Sadly, this episode marks the end of our journey through The Next Generation and WOW was it a great one! Starting tomorrow, we will move into second part of the TOS Movie era (ST: V & VI). I hope you will continue to join me :)

I figured out what my trouble was with my initial entering into the programme, but when I try to install, it tells me that it is conflict with an existing file of the same name, do I want to delete the old file, or put it somewhere else, and no matter what I do, it just pops up with the same message again. What could be the issue there?

I have to respect J.M.S. for not caving into ridiculous demands by TNT just to keep his show on the air. They literally wanted the xenobiologist to study alien cultures by having sex with every alien he meets (thus the discovery of alien 'porn' in his quarters).

That said, having read the script for two of the unaired episodes had me drooling for more Technomage stuff.

That's what I meant when I said pregnant and not pregnant at the same time and that the foetus was possibly not in the same timestream as her.

At least now we know who the father is.

Shrodinger. :)

I agree that it's got to be a timey-wimey thing that's causing the indeterminate reading. Maybe Amy exists twice in the current time line, and one of her is pregnant. The TARDIS scanner was not told which Amy Pond to scan, so it bounces between the two results.

It seemed like eyepatch-lady said something like a midwife would say to a woman giving birth in one of the eps (the pirate one, I think). Something like "You're doing fine."

The next episode is supposed to have a big cliff-hanger, and then just one more until the mid-season break. Gahhhh! I'm all atwitter.

Well... Amy did sort of create an alternate timeline... Remember from the first series with Matt, the little Amy who visited the museum and released Amy prime from the whosiwhaticron box? :3

Then again, Donna did, too. :)

And what's her name... The first assistant of the new era... Um... Can't remember her name.. >.

But.. but... I waaaaaaaant mooooore! ;-)

That's funny. I didn't even realize the last season was only 13 episodes too. There's been a few series on this side of the pond that only had 12 or 13 episodes before it was cancelled (Firefly and Crusade to name two) and the fans describe them as never really getting the chance to draw an audience.

Hi all,

I bought a lifetime sub to LotRO when it came out (and have been playing it off-and-on since, so think I've got my money's worth!)

For Lifers (and subscribers) it works pretty much as before. A Free player can play a fair bit straight out of the gate, but would then need to spend turbine points on unlocking new areas, etc.

Lifers and subbers get 500 turbine point per month free, which you can spend on various nice things, including a few stat point boosts (max +50 to each stat so not game-breaking). You also get a few turbine points from completing deeds, and of course can buy them too.

I think it's working out pretty well for them, tho I do find the constant references to LotRO store in the game UI pretty annoying...

As for the game itself:
- It's based itself heavily on WoW.
- There's no open-world PvP so it's a much more relaxing (and generally adult) environment.
- The story is pretty good for an MMO.
- Artistic license (for the sake of gameplay) means Tolkien fans might cringe a fair bit... but it's not as bad as STO in that regard so I'm guessing it wouldn't bother most of you! :P

I still play it now and then, but obviously more STO atm...

Noooo! Mid-season break already?! There's only been what, 5 episodes so far?!

You know. It's this kind of cruelty that made us American's revolt against the British in the first place. (Meant purely in jest!)
