New Fleet Uniforms Available!

August 16 2015
Can we get the uniform specs posted someplace prominent on the fleet website? The in-game tailor is currently bugged and won't load the current female Fed uniform. Thanks.

I upgraded from the St. Louis to the Phoenix and it just felt like a huge step down. I cross trained to battleships and was a bit bored waiting for my guns to load.

Perhaps a precursor to a "Federation" style economy?

IN THE FUTURE, HOBBIES ARE YOUR WORK, YOU GET PAID FOR DOING WHAT YOU LIKE TO DO, AND IF YOU'RE NOT A GOOD INDIVIDUAL IT IS CLEAR TO OTHERS DUE TO IT.

I am all for a global version of this honestly, but, I know it's unlikely to happen in my lifetime.

mine did that on 8.1, if you are having trouble, try this http://www.pcworld.com/article/188244/Fix_a_Computer_That_Wont_Stay_Asleep.html

hope that helps, (even if it's windows 10, a lot of the system is similar to 8.1, so, It still can apply.)

Manu Intiraymi coming to Stonewall Times

August 15 2015
Well the interview is done ..... And it was a truly epic experience ... Over two hours spent chatting with Manu, and he's given me some scoops and exclusives to share with you guys. There is one thing still to come from him though, which I will share either towards the end of the year, or you will all have to wait till the beginning of next year to find out what it is (no spoilers from me :P).

Have a rather sore throat now though :(, but having the opportunity to have an experience like that a sore throat I can live with.

Now comes the hard part, putting it into words to make it an enjoyable read for you all.

There's another ST cast member interview in the pipeline, so watch this space .....

Stonewall Roleplay

August 15 2015
Posted my bio in the group. I'll go ahead and duplicate it here:

T'Nel was born in New Samarkand, Alpha Centauri III, to biologists Vral and T'Lyr in 2360. As a youngster, she constantly asked questions, more so than typical for a Vulcan child. In particular, she struggled to understand the humans who made up the majority of her family's friends and acquaintances. In adolescence, T'Nel attended a Vulcan high school, from which she graduated with highest honors. Upon graduation, she moved on to the Vulcan Science Academy, where she obtained degrees in exobiology, exobotany, and exophysiology.

Towards the end of her time on Vulcan, she shared living quarters with a promising young Betazoid physicist named Taxalwa Kor. While visiting her homeworld, Kor unwittingly contracted an extremely rare case of early-onset Zanthi fever. T'Nel thus experienced Kor's wide-ranging emotions, a deeply troubling experience until Kor's illness was diagnosed and cured. The experience left T'Nel wanting to pursue a career in psychology, to better understand and treat the "emotional mind." Once she completed her studies at the Academy, T'Nel enrolled in the psychology program at the University of Johannesburg on Earth.

One of T'Nel's professors, Dr. Peter Wozniak, thought that her unique background would make her well suited to a career in Starfleet. He urged his student to transfer from the university to Starfleet Academy. T'Nel deemed this a logical step for her career.

T'Nel has just completed her studies, magna cum laude, at Starfleet and is about to take on the assignment of ship's counselor.

Perhaps a precursor to a "Federation" style economy?

August 15 2015
It takes a mind that can see beyond the literal translation and thought process. The more we progress the more likely it is that jobs will wither as machines can do the work we were doing. New jobs will still be created, though not as many, and over time this number has a potential to continue getting smaller with only a few moderate gains in the job market during the transition.

If you look ahead to the future and then look at the current economic problem... you will distinctly see that there are many college graduates with all these "skills and education" whom are out of work or unable to get work due to changes in the demand for that work type and/or replacement by machine/AI. When the jobless people with the credentials aforementioned all seek work at once there becomes an overflow in the market and a surge into the aforementioned non-credential areas. Now, look back to see that you are still only talking about one piece of the work force. If you add in multiple divisions of the current and/or experienced labor force (ie factory worker, restaurant, retail, etc.) then add in your constant - which is the new surplus of 'of-age' workers- you will see that the job market becomes flooded all at once -which is what is happening now- and there becomes a crisis of workers unable to do work because the skills/education people had are no longer valid/usable, and the market retains the constant influx of new workers which sets the division of skilled labor force vs new labor force against each other for the non-credentialed work detail.

Wrap this all together with the investment of acquiring a new skill set/education, couple it with the tremendous strain and drain it will place upon you -especially while not being able to get by in the interim, because nothings free right?- and then factor in first and foremost the age of the individual followed by their personal situation (family/friends/finances/home/etc.) and realize that a shift in skills/education is a difficult transition and may not even be possible, feasible, and/or obtainable for some let alone worth the effort based on current demands of the labor force.

To conclude, think ahead even more to see that when this model is followed the current number of openings in a field with demand for credentialed workers will close up as all these individuals obtain the new skill sets/education being required. There you have it. The cycle repeats itself. Don't forget the influx of new workers from this cycle coming in now as well...

The goals of personal enrichment and the betterment of society is where we need to shift our focus as a whole so that when the time comes humanity is ready to face this eventuality given our continual infantile steps.

So just to review the math, assuming you're not talking a Lockbox or Lobi ship, before discounts from sales or bundles, you're spending $30 for a trait.

I think the author Iain Banks fictional society called the culture was based on this idea. The idea was that sentient machines did all the work and the population worked more for personal interest, and or to relieve boredom rather than any need to earn an income.

Ship selection help

August 15 2015
Well you can unlock the bonuses from a T6 ship fairly quickly and then apply that ship trait to another ship you fly. I have bought ships to get the ship trait solely to use on another ship i like to fly.

ahhh so you unlock with the ships but they unlock traits in the character so tied to him and not the ship. so nothing wrong in having several ships then?

Same with me. They just are so fun. St Louis and the Cleveland are very fun.

I went and bought the Atlanta for my NA side. But seem to be losing money with it so far. I need to play a lot better with it or I lose 10k per game.

I guess I enjoy being able to shoot more often than the big boys and although some will cry out for quality over quantity, I like the ability to make smother others with my shots over the big blasts but long reloads on the bigger weapons. ;)

Great minds Brandon, great minds

I was just about to lay waste to my credit card and book this and then I noticed Norwegian. I so very badly want to go... but I so very badly do not want to be on Norwegian.

Plus I would have to pay the single occupancy rate as none of my friends IRL are Trekkies. So I am paying EXTRA to cruise on a floating Haitian refugee camp.
