I agree that lower hull made me cringe. One of the things I loved about the Akira was that it was a carrier torpedo boat. She was sleek something any engineer would be proud of.

After seeing the bottom of the ship, I take it all back. They did Fisher-Price it. I would have been so pleased if they would have done justice to Alex Jaeger's initial design by creating a simple, single deck through and through hangar with doors at the leading and trailing edges of the saucer.

i spent the last few hours trying to fix that (and also loss of sound...and of course lots of "old" site tech using activex no longer work in Edge or firefox) UGHD!

anyway, rant over - for cortana - change ALL your settings (location, region, language, keyboard) to English US...then run cortana...set her up, then once she's up n running, change your settings back to English UK, should be ok then

The system requirements are actually pretty low (which is great considering the dinosaur I'm using). My only complaint after having it installed for two days is that I can't access my external hard drive. It installs a generic driver but it just won't access the drive. I've already checked on the manufacturer's site and they don't have anything out yet. Hopefully, MS shakes a leg and updates their stuff.

Other than that, I've been pretty happy with it. I've gone through and removed Cortana and One Drive. If you choose to remove Cortana, Microsoft -claims- that it's part of the OS, blah, blah, blah. So I installed Classic Shell and have a Win 7 Start menu back.

Those are all valid concerns and I'm really appreciative that the admiralty is thinking this through in its entirety. A hastened decision could definitely lead to a the armada requiring quite a bit of unneeded effort on the part of Stonewall--mainly the additional moderation and application of our rules/guidelines. Plus, getting buy in from the other fleets might be really tough and it could come across that we're bullying them or being overbearing. It could easily shatter the armada and create an environment where the other fleets start to become a revolving door of joining and leaving.

Maybe a fleet poll or contest to name the Armada Channel? BaconArmada ?

I just manually downloaded it from the Microsoft Website and installed it from there so I didn't have to wait.

If you're on a Mac, don't make the mistake that I made and uninstall Windows 7 from Parallels first. You have to have Windows installed for the upgrade to work, otherwise it tries to charge you.

It was discussed as Dex said, and I apologize that its taken as long to let you all know whats happening.

As you know we at Stonewall value our community spirit, and the family we have created for ourselves in our down time.
Some of Us feel (I was one of them) we will loose that family spirit, and wont know who is who if we open the Armada chat in the same chat channel, that goes hand in hand with the worry that our CoC will be out of place.. our FCs and Admirals may take more time to check if a person who breaches Stonewalls CoC, is in our Fleet.. or in another fleet.. giving them added responsibility's... or do we have a right to make the other fleets live by our guidelines in chat, spoilers, PG13? etc.
As well as new members asking for an invite.. what fleet are they wanting.. is it us? etc etc.. lots to think about.

There fore it was decided that we open up another separate channel, much like our events channel we used during pride, and invited anyone from in the game to join in.
Members may join at there own risk, with an understanding that it may not be monitored & moderated in the same way as Stonewall Chat,.. so we will see how that goes once we add more fleets into our Armada... we obviously don't want it becoming like STO Zone chat (if youve ever seen that) so we will see how it goes and maybe.. if we need to strike up some agreed rules with the other fleets when they join.

Nick Will be working on opening this separate channel (StonewallArmada) very soon, and I will let you know when it goes live. :cheer:

I know this post is old and what not but in case some have read, i'll just note that regardless of what qualification one has as a therapist, counselor, or psychologist or what training you have received in the real world or fictional world, it doesn't make you impervious to the pain, discomfort or trauma you would received.
Plus being a victim in those cases like the one in my story, you aren't always rational in the heat of those moments, those thoughts are always there in the back of ones mind each days, it only comes out when certain situation are present at that time to which it floods in the choices you make from the initial hit to even later on.

Even professional therapist, counselors and psychologist need helped from someone who is qualified just as much to ensure that they are handling things appropriately in that moment.
