Before this post goes all POMO with VHS tapes, I would like to add that the Akira T-6 Is a a beaut, I have not had the opportunity to pilot her, but stats alone tell me that she is golden. If you are a Captain who love's a good tact carrier, she is the lady for you.

As Gareth stated, sorry for not updating you guys sooner. We've had some things to discuss and things have been changing rather rapidly.

As soon as the armada feature was announced, we started getting requests to join our armada from lots of different places and this was before we even gotten to look at the system on Tribble. We needed to decide what we wanted from the armada and what information we needed to get from the fleets to inform our decision of who to invite. We had settled on a few fleets to invite and once reaching out to them, the day after 10.5 launched, they had all (save one) decided to join other armadas.

We settled on three basic rules. The fleets have to be either glbta or glbta-affirming. They have to be larger than 1 person and active. And they can't be made up of disgruntled ex-Stonewall members. Now that things are settling down a bit, we can reach out to the community and see what other kind of allies we can find.

I agree with both of you. The bottom of that new Akira saucer looks hideous. It's a step backward (not in a cool retro vibe way) & manages to out-fugly the Dervish Class & her sister ships.

Sorry, already beat ya too it. :P Nothing extreme in the naming as there's no actually way to name the armada. (I was personally hoping to name it the Turing Armada :(). The channel is just StonewallArmada. It exists and you can join it whenever you like.

We decided this was the best way to go as it allows us to remove offending individuals without having to kick an entire fleet and still allows for cross-faction chat. Though, StonewallFleet channel should still be our default chat for most conversation.

Fleeties are keeping busy today and finding a way to reach all those nooks and crannies. Feel free to tag yourself.

I agree that lower hull made me cringe. One of the things I loved about the Akira was that it was a carrier torpedo boat. She was sleek something any engineer would be proud of.

After seeing the bottom of the ship, I take it all back. They did Fisher-Price it. I would have been so pleased if they would have done justice to Alex Jaeger's initial design by creating a simple, single deck through and through hangar with doors at the leading and trailing edges of the saucer.

i spent the last few hours trying to fix that (and also loss of sound...and of course lots of "old" site tech using activex no longer work in Edge or firefox) UGHD!

anyway, rant over - for cortana - change ALL your settings (location, region, language, keyboard) to English US...then run cortana...set her up, then once she's up n running, change your settings back to English UK, should be ok then

I'm debating about upgrading my Win8.1 laptop to Win10 to give it a whirl. It's an old dinosaur that I put 8.1 on because I had an extra license when XP was going end of life. It's an old Dell D630. I wonder if it would even take the upgrade. Guess I better check out the system analyzer thing to see if Win10 will work on it or not. It's surprisingly peppy in Win8.1 and I have it pretty much maxed out. It's like a tank and just won't die.

The system requirements are actually pretty low (which is great considering the dinosaur I'm using). My only complaint after having it installed for two days is that I can't access my external hard drive. It installs a generic driver but it just won't access the drive. I've already checked on the manufacturer's site and they don't have anything out yet. Hopefully, MS shakes a leg and updates their stuff.

Other than that, I've been pretty happy with it. I've gone through and removed Cortana and One Drive. If you choose to remove Cortana, Microsoft -claims- that it's part of the OS, blah, blah, blah. So I installed Classic Shell and have a Win 7 Start menu back.
