May be totally unrelated to this but some of us had extreme difficulties being able to log into STO without having to go to options and start in safe mode / run as administrator etc due to having a decent graphics card in our home machines. To permanently fix this in my case I had to go into the gameprefs.pref file and change the following files to my own screen resolution: (Edit: GamePrefs.pref is in live/localdata folder)

PrefEntry GfxSettings.FullScreenHeight 600

PrefEntry GfxSettings.FullScreenWidth 800

Leaving them like this was basically causing my graphics card to have a mini stroke as it couldnt deal with such a low resolution being asked of it. So swapping them to my native resolution:

PrefEntry GfxSettings.FullScreenHeight 1080

PrefEntry GfxSettings.FullScreenWidth 1920

Fixed everything for me and now STO is again good as gold and I dont need to do anything but enter password and click engage again. I think some updates must accidentally write these changes back into prefs file which causes us to have these issues. Note deleting the file and starting the game doesnt fix it automatically as the client writes the 800/600 values as its own default settings.

Hmm, I'll give that a try. I tried uninstalling Neverwinter since I was having the same problem with that too and that didn't fix it. TSW finally patched. Gee, I go to Montreal for vacation and I lose STO while I'm away. :)

SCAVENGER BINGO EVENT
Event Participation Instructions

Thank you for joining us for Stonewall Fleet's SIXTH annual pride celebrations!

This is Stonewall's Scavenger Hunt bingo event and it's very easy to participate! First, clear a 5x5 space in your inventory. Then, simply travel the galaxy in search of the various items displayed in the bingo sheet below! Hints for locating the items on the bingo sheet are also provided in the body of this post. The first participant to collect any of the different bingo combinations can call a "bingo" in the event chat channel. We will then ask that you provide the event host with a link to a screenshot of your inventory, proving that you've collected the items in the quantities required to earn the "bingo!" (Screenshot instructions are attached in the second post in this thread).

Completing either a full row, column, X, cross or black-out as illustrated below, will win you the corresponding prize. Once you win a prize, you may NOT compete for another prize. For example, if you are one of the first to complete row 2 and call "bingo", you will win the corresponding prize. You may NOT compete for any other prizes after winning a prize.

The event hosts will announce when a BINGO is called and a prize is claimed, so that you know whether to change priorities and start working on another row, column or prize, based on whether or not all available prizes for your particular goal have been claimed. For example, if you choose to pursue a black-out, but someone beats you to completing that black-out, you will need to re-focus your efforts on completing a row, column, X or cross, before someone else. You may at any time decide to discontinue playing, and can see an event host for a consolation prize!

Pick which prize you want most, and strategize accordingly!

Special thanks to @voleron

ATTENTION FLEET MEMBERS

BRIEF: Last night, Admiral Voleron, Beamed up to Stonewalls cargo ship that was storing all of the Fleet Admiral Nicks personal shiny and valuable inventory items..
Voleron was witnessed to be slightly intoxicated and was seen exiting the transporter room humming a rendition of Britney Spears "hit me baby one more time".
The eye witness saw him stumble a few times as he walked through the corridor, "he was a long time down on Risa, he must have been hitting all the bars he could" the eye witness says.
He was then seen outside a door labelled (in child like crayon writing) "Nicks stuff keep the hell away".
The winess stated that Voleron was mumbling/slurring something about wanting to find a box of biscuits while simultaneously pressing buttons on the door to Nicks cargo hold.

Eventually Voleron gained access.. but in his drunken excitement he stumbled through the door whilst giggling like a little girl.. and fell against the cargo holds space doors... EVERYTHING of Nicks precious items were FLUNG out into all corners of the galaxy...

Different connotation in English, though. "Enormous fleet it will take an act of God to defeat."

As opposed to "fleet," which is just a bunch of ships.

World of Warships

Been playing since the last days of CBT thanks to good old Humble Bundle, and have to say I hate PvP games. This one is so much fun though if you want a quick blast on the oceans, but my ships should be named after Red Shirts. Seems every time an enemy ship comes in range it always shoots at me instead of its original target.

Well worth a go no matter if you like PvP or PvE but be aware progress up the ship ladders will be much slower if you don't PvP.

Now in open beta. It's a bit like World of Tanks, but a bit more fun (for me, anyway). You've got a PvP and a co-op PvE mode. You set your speed, control your turrets and sponsons with your mouse cursor, steer with the AQED keys, zoom with the mouse wheel and fire with the left button. Easy as peas. :)

You can work yourself up to an aircraft carrier, whose controls are a bit more RTS than anything else, I've read. You start with an American and Japanese cruiser and work your way through several WWI/WWII style ships branching to destroyers, battleships, and Aircraft Carriers. I'm very happy that they have 2 of the ships that used to be based in my home town. :3

Come give it a try, it's like STO on the high seas! x3

Head shots used to do more damage, but people complained that the game was too easy so they ramped up the difficulty. It was ridiculous for a while, but the difficulty has come back down to a manageable level.
