On my long route to the Vesta, I had the T5 Intrepid Retro.
A solid Science ship, but hell to solo with because of the extreme Sci/Eng focus.
This thing actually looks like it could be a healbeast that could even beat Recluse and Nebula as a heal platform, given the Mastery traits and console set bonuses.
At the very least, it'll make up for the defects of the Dauntless - and add in Intel capacity without the sheer fuglitude of the Scryer.
What is it about casting the brits as villains though i am particularly wrathful alot :P
Not just villains, any Europeans tend to be afforded English accents unless they're in for comedic effect. Though, obviously the opening to TNG wouldn't have had the same gravitas with a French accent... But it does bode well for the Britain's EU policy if the whole continent speaks with an English accent in the future.
Speaking of Stonewalled-movies. MP: Let's bring out that Kirk-Spock slashfic. I'd like to thank the judges for reading through our entries. I'm honored, and sort of speechless at the moment so my mind is drawing a blank as to sufficiently convey how ecstatic I am!
C O N T E S T · J U D G I N G · C O M P L E T E ! Captain Biography Contest Results Posted
Good day Stonewallers and contestants! Today, on behalf of the Fleet Resources Department, I'm excited to announce the results of our Captain Biography Contest!
Before we get to the results, I'd like to take a moment to introduce you to the judges, and explain how the entries were judged. The judging panel consisted of myself, and your fantastic resources department Fleet Captains: Dralthcaan, and Gravity. Each of us independently read the seventeen contest entries, and individually scored each submission in three areas: creativity, details and impact.

These categories are obviously quite subjective. What I might consider to be impactful, might be considered less impactful by another judge, for example. To balance out all of our views, we each scored every entry in these three categories on a scale of 1 to 10, allowing for half points. We then took the average of each of our marks in every category and combined them to arrive at an overall score. In this way, we hoped to most objectively and fairly arrive at our decision.
All of the contest entries were fantastic, and resonated with us each differently. Only fractions of a mark separated many of these amazing entries and we wish that everyone could have won, but in the end, there could be only two! I'm astounded by the amazing creativity and writing talent that we have here in the fleet, and enjoyed being pulled into your Captain's world, if only for a short while. We hope you all had fun, and I encourage you to read your fellow contestant's entries and enjoy what they all have to offer! Thank you to all of our participants for making this contest a success! You've inspired many of us to keep developing the stories behind our Captains and crew!

We'll be in touch with the 1st and 2nd place contestants through mail on the website in the coming days to award the prizes! The appropriate forum ribbons will be awarded to each of your accounts today, and will appear beneath your picture and name, beside each of your posts in the fleet forums!
Be sure to check out the next edition of the Stonewall Times, where you'll each be mentioned!
On behalf of the Fleet Resources Department, I'd like to thank you all for participating in our contest. We loved each of your entries and hope that you had fun!
I've used Parallels for gaming with mixed results. SWTOR runs fins in Parallels on my MBP, the STO PC client did not. Though that could very well be because I didn't fiddle with enough, since there is a Mac client.
Hmmm.... interesting. Macs don't use DirectX, which graphic features need DX11 on the PC side? I wonder if turning off specific graphic settings may address this issue (at least Mac side).
DirectX is a part of Windows, you could say that it works like a "Liaison Officer" between games, the hardware and the operating system.
I´m not sure if turning off some graphics settings will let disappear the error message.
Greetings, A.M. :)
P.S.: After the launch of a new season there are usually always the same two problems:
1. Mac Client doesn´t work. 2. Game Pads don´t work.
They get it usually fixed within a few weeks, but it´s sad that they even launch a new season before that stuff works properly.
I´m not sure if for Macs still the option exists, which I had for my Power Mac 7200/90 about 20 years ago: I could "simulate" a Windows operating system (Windows Emulator or something like that) and was able to install Windows software.
But you shouldn´t even have to think about that possibility. I mean, STO offers a Mac client and they should get it to work, dammit!
To answer those questions: Yes I have the pixel shading error as well... But what happens is that I get about five minutes of game play (as I said, on the lowest settings possible, then the whole game just freezes. I can't get out of it I can't do anything. I have to force restart my Mac.
Also just in case it matters I have a: Macbook Pro Retina 15 inch, bought in February. OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 Graphics (I know nothing about graphics cards, I am just reading it from the info screen) Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
I have googled the issue but only briefly, I am so busy that I have just been trying to get on and then give up after it freezes. I plan on googling and reading actual threads tomorrow after work. I know about bootcamp but I would love to not have to deal with that as well. We shall see going forward.
I will say that I am "glad" that the PC people have the shading error - it means it isn't just me/my Mac being dumb :-)
