i am unhappy with the new f2p system. first the stuff was free like in moria, now i have to pay for it. i had character slots. in first for free. so i make all classes on the server, now i had to pay, or leave 2 character slots behind. coz the 2 slots are locked.

after all. i think they damaged the game badly. they chosen the wrong path, in the way the choose what is free and what not. so every arae has quest but u must pay for them. in moria ,too. not good so farewell frodo and bilbo

I couldnt disagree more. First point is you had to pay in the past, Moria and Mirkwood were expansions that cost around £20 each. Also the subscription fee was £8.99 a month. If you didnt pay then you couldnt log in.

Now if you pay nothing you can log in and play the starting areas Shire, Bree, Ered Luin, Lone Lands. You can then buy different area's quest packs as you come to them.

Its naive to think you can play an MMO with all the bells and whistles and not pay a penny. End of the day they are businesses that need to make money so they can expand while attracting new customers.

Just a quick heads up for the Codemasters Migratee's to turbine.. System got hacked and usernames and encrypted passwords got looked at possibly stolen.

May be a good time to change passwords.

So I just started playing this game thanks to a guildies/fleeties recommendation and I've got to admit this is kind of fun and a nice break of pace from WoW. :)

now will isengard at the start and they want for it 44 euro, so i say goodbye to middleearth,

the free to play system is in my eyes a nightmare. u can only get basic stuff for free. and to come up to high lvl u need a vip account and pay each month. coz the points in the store are not cheap.

when you pay each month u get 500 points in the online store.

u need to pay for high lvl crafting and other high lvl stuff, and many quests, too

i played it long time. but now it is an end for me on middle earth. so farewell little hobbits

I bought the lifer subscription for this game shortly after it was released. The F2P system didn't affect me at all. Of course you had people complaining that the F2P players were going to just buy all the skills that players before had to earn in the game. I didn't really care to be honest with you.

I actually created a F2P account just to see what it is like. You can get everything for free since you earn points to use in the store by accomplishing in-game objectives.

Anyone playing this now? Recommendation of what server to join? Any LGBT guilds?

I don't play it anymore, but I can recommend Knights of The White Lady, a LGBT guild on Landroval. Nice people.

I play this occasionally. It's a great game. lots of fun to be had there.
I'm on Elindilmir, but I've been thinking of rolling up a character on Landroval... hmmmm...perhaps

FINALLY got access to a server (Landroval). Seems like it's going to be a fun game, glad that it seems to play a lot like Champions. This is my first non-Cryptic game.

I doubt I'm going to spend any money on the game anytime soon, but I'm REALLY enjoying it, the art and music are phenomenal! I've got through the intro with both an Elf Hunter and a Hobbit Minstrel.
