Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

I've been really looking forward to Skyrim, but I just don't know if a month is enough time to fully enjoy it before SWTOR comes out. Is anyone else going to play this one? I'm sure I can get through at least one playthrough before 12/20, but I always like to go through 3 or 4 times in these kinds of games. Arrgh, just can't decide!!

The main reason i dont have/wont be getting : Rage, Civ 5, Skyrim, Witcher 2, and other games. I have STO, SWTOR coming, and Diablo 3 coming; i just wont have the time to play any of them with those 3.

I haven't looked forward to a game as much as I am Skyrim in a looooong time. I figure I will be playing it for a very long time. I was a huge fan of Morrowind and Oblivion. The Elder Scrolls are more the kind of game I like to live in over an extended period. Not necessarily burn myself out on trying to finish it all at once.

I will definitely play both. I'm willing to make the time haha.

I was actually attempting to decide between Skyrim and Zelda: Skyward Sword. I ended up going with Skyward Sword for two reasons:

1. It might be good to wait and see if Steam has a ridiculous holiday sale, like they do every year.

2. Since it's the holiday season, I wanted to be able to play games in the same room as my Christmas tree, and my PC (preferred platform for Skyrim) is not in that room. :P

I never played Morrowind, but I loved Oblivion. I have my gold Septim coin here at my computer "The Empire is Law. The Law is Sacred. Praise be Akatosh, and all the Divines". I love it when a game creates a rich backstory to base the game on. Hmm, I guess I can always play Skyrim until the 20th, then save other play throughs for later.

Thanks for all the input guys!!

I don't know why I just couldn't get into Oblivion. It just never gripped me and I tried 2 or 3 times to get into it. I started with a sword wielder, then when I restarted felt absolutely useless as an archer. I guess that's why Skyrim isn't on my radar at the moment. Maybe that will change with a killer Steam deal like Sean mentioned.

I'm STILL playing Batman: Arkham City (just finished my second play through) 3 weeks later and I can't wait for Saint's Row 3 and Assassin's Creed next week. Those should get me through until SWTOR's Early Access starts. First quarter next year is going to be harder with SWTOR competing directly against Diablo 3 and Mass Effect 3 (there's a series I've played through 3 or 4 times now) for my time.

heh. it's funny. these days I buy almost everything off steam. But Skyrim I felt compelled to get a disc for. Just so I can know even if anything happens to steam in the next couple of years (as excessively unlikely as that is) I will still "own" it.

also, I recently sent my old Oblivion copy to a friend who never had the pleasure. It's nice to be able to do that.

I put hours and hours into this game. I never did get to see everything because I took an arrow to the knee.

... Sorry, I had to do it!
