Very nice! I can't wait. They should give it away for free after the travesty that was SimCity Societies.

I for one cant wait for this to come out, ive been part of the modding and BATting community for a long time and an admin for a sc4 fnsite for almost 5 years.

After "simcity socities" i almost lost faith that we'd see a proper sequel to the game. Good to be wrong!

Agreed. I had such high hopes for Societies, and it did absolutely nothing for me. Some of the ideas behind it were still nice, though. It just wasn't a full game really. It also seemed to have a few bugs that never got fixed.

Caesar, however, was a great line of games as was Pharaoh.

I did a little searching around and found these images that were originally leaked by the Germany magazine GameCorner. It looks like this new release will focus on limited resources and effects of making decisions.

I volunteer every year for the FutureCity competition for middle school aged kids. It's a competition where the kids write essays about their made-up city, their vision and concept for it, and they actually simulate it using SimCity, which actually counts toward their team scores. Every year they have a theme, usually focusing on a limited resource or emphasizing a specific aspect of life that is/will be important going forward. For example, in recent years they have focused on water usage and biotechnology. Hopefully they'll upgrade which version of SimCity they use so I can play with that one when I'm helping mentor their teams. :)

I love this series and have to agree that Societies was a huge let down. I still do break out SimCity 4 every now and then and play it. I'll be getting this when it comes out.

I've not played a Sim City game in a long time. But, after watching this video, I may just have to change that.

I've already put my pre-order in on Amazon and am going to schedule a few days off of work the week it comes out to play.

Geeky - sure, but beyond STO it's been the only game I've been excited to play for a long time.

The new regional play feature really sounds neat to me! Just like in SimCity4, you can have multiple cities in the same region, but now its much more social and you can have friends of yours play those cities. It'd be really cool to have a Stonewall region where we can all team up and play together!

Pretty sure I am going to get this when it comes out. Sim City 4 is just too outdated visually now, but it still has the depth. I hope this new version lives up to its name.

So can I lock down my own cities? I don't know if I like the idea of 'sharing' my creations... I made the mistake of telling ONE person years ago that I didn't share very well in the sandbox when I was young and now everyone thinks I can't share! Well, I CAN'T!

So the traffic sucks in one of my neighbourhoods. I may be leaving it that way on purpose! Not every child needs to be educated and healthy I say! Please don't tell me that peeps are going to be able to go build light rail and schools in my towns while I'm not watching!
