STEP COUNT CHALLENGE
SPRING STEP

To take part you will need:

  • A mobile or smart watch (step tracking)
  • A heath app such as Google fit, fitbit, Samsung health or Apple health
  • Choose your own character (below)
  • Access to SGN discord (to send me screen grabs of your step count each night, before you go to bed)
  • 7 days of dedication (at your own pace)

Starting Monday 14th April until your midnight Sunday 20th Easter day

As before we have had a few themes,
our lord of the rings inspired "Walk to Morder"
Then our Halloween inspired "Zombie walk"
and last years "Walk of thrones"
This year we have gone with an easter theme.
The Person with the highest steps at the end of the week will walk away with an exclusive participation T-shirt.

--------------------------------

THE CHALLENGE

The premise of this challenge is simple.
[You go about your daily business, at the end of each day (Mon 14th to Sun 20th) you must send me a phone screengrab of your steps revealed to you in your health apps or a photo of your watch displaying its steps,
I will then move you on the map to the position of how many steps you have taken.
All your daily steps will add up toward your weeks progress.
Example:
Monday you did 7,000 steps,
Tues you did a further 10,000 steps for the day.. your total steps so far would be 17,000.
I will keep adding them and tracking totalling them.

You DO NOT have to be active at all, anyone can take part, its just for fun. Even if itys walking around the supermarket, walking your doggos or even on the treadmil.. all steps count.

The More Steps you do, the more I can Move you on the map above each day.

When you hit a Landmark that’s Listed on the map (below), you pick up a Crystal egg, each egg is worth 1 SWC. (to use in the Stonewall credits store)
Example.. if you do 10,000 steps , you have travelled from Home base, to the next land mark.. you pick up 1 egg and win 1 SWC
Do 10,000 or more steps the next day.. and you would have reached the next destination.. Another shard you have claimed!
You don't have to precisely hit the goal steps, so long as you have gone past the goals requested steps, you've made it.
Once you've hit the last goal, the challenge is complete!

The Goal is to hit each landmark and pick up as many Crystal egg's as you can.. and then if you go all the way, and hit the final goal (100k + steps by the end of the week) you've completed it!

THE STORY:

All participants will play as Bunny people in the land of Bunny Island, a calm and peaceful land full of lush green meadows and all the carrots you can only dream off.
Each year the Bunny people hold a festival to honour the Island god "GeeZues", They adorn his shrine with sacred crystal eggs in hopes that one day he would return.
However, an evil and slightly deranged foreigner from a far away land named "Grump" is slowly trying to take over this lush green land island, in doing so he has stolen all the crystal eggs and hidden them around bunny hop Island.
It is your task to find all the eggs (or at least some) and return them to the GeeZues shrine in time for easter.

HOW TO TAKE PART:

To take part please choose a character from the list below, and simply respond to this post with the character number you want.
I will then register you as a Step participant.

Remember to leave a response here with your chosen character number so I know your participating.

THE MAP:

On Monday the 14th April you start your steps, at the end of each day, take a screen grab and send to me via discord (GXV3)
at the beginning of each day I will update this map to the position your total steps are.
This map will change each day with your various positions (total steps).

PRIZES:

Each Crystal you collect, is worth 1 Stonewall credit, which you can use to purchase STO items or Steam games.
You can find more about Stonewall Credits by clicking your avatar in the top right, and selecting "Wallet".

This year the person with the most steps will win an exclusive T-shirt from our Redbubble store that no one else in the entire world will have... crazy right?

IN BRIEF:

  • Pick your your character from above
  • Leave the number of your chosen character as a response here
  • Monday 14th will be the 1st day to start counting your steps
  • Submit your screengrabs to me via discord message (@ GXV3) each night (7 days)
  • I will move all your total steps on the map daily, so keep checking back here on your progress each day

Anyone got good suggestions for where to take a picture for the ship which has a recognizably Klingon background? I assume one of the starbases could work?

Resources Department presents...the SHIPS OF STONEWALL 2024!

We're now into our 3rd year of our annual yearbook and we hereby invite you to get your holo-imager ready and snap your fabulous (flag)ships and their captains!

Why not showcase a ship that has been sitting in your drydock, being serviced by those lower decks crews...*ahem*? What other new ships did you get in 2024? Did the Typhoon blow* you away and take top spot as your flagship? *pun worthy of @voleron

Also the keen eye may spot that our very own @nicholasjohn16 used the same picture for the USS Stonewall in previous editions (you can read last year's here)....will he finally pick a new picture?? Find out in this year's SHIPS of STONEWALL yearbook which as ever, will showcase these, the ships of our wonderful fleet of members and our extended armada buddies, and serve as our 2024 family album which we can sit down to read over the holiday period.

INSTRUCTIONS TO TAKE PART:
1. Take a good quality high-resolution image of your ship

2. Take a good quality high-resolution image of your captain &/or crew

5. Provide any Captain's Log excerpts (optional) - feel free to highlight the adventures of your ship and crew to tell the story of your 2024 and send in about 3 or 4 paragraphs. Some ideas to include:
Write a mini biography for your captain and crew, and/or a small except of your captain's logs of adventures throughout 2024.
Did you get a newly commissioned flagship this year?
What is the reason, or backstory, for your ship's name?
What spatial anomalies did you encounter?
Which species made your captain spill their coffee (or tea)?
With whom did you make first...or even second contacts?
Where did you boldly pew pew? And;

6. Send your submissions via
[Discord - PREFERRED] Direct message the above information and files to @ Calcyum via Discord

All I can think of is that I heard players mention an annual SGN events called Reflection Day or something like that. Mirror Universe themed events basically. I heard they're pretty fun. But I can't remember those ever happening since I came along few years back. I wonder if those might have a comeback...?

Yea we can defiantly look into "Reflection Day" making a come back possibly in the new year.
Its always good to get feedback from the people who play/have heard of it, as that encourages us to keep the events going knowing folk like it.
Thanks for that.

In general I only really play STO when it comes to multiplayer games. The reason is time. I tried two MMOs once and couldn't keep up with both. There were just too many events and fun stuff happening on both and not enough time to play either of them properly. So I will just stick to STO and occasional single player game on a side. STO can get a bit tedious since new content is getting delayed more and more, but I have found couple of tricks how to make it still spicy and interesting even after years of playing.

Hiya.

The only multiplayer games I'm truly interested in are ones with common goals.  Ones which encourage camaraderie and cooperation.  Especially ones where we get to build our own city or the like.  I think those are few and far between nowadays, however.

I'm far less interested in doing something just for the sake of it (such as dailies) or for new shiny pixels to upgrade the old, duller pixels.

Apart from that I too would be interested in more board or party games.

I tend to be available weekday evenings apart from Monday and Wednesday and weekends.  This is Pacific time.

Cheers.

First of all, I'd definitely second doing STO quests and storylines together, along with doing some themed TFO nights when people can. Beyond that, though, I have to admit that there aren't many multiplay games that I play. Would not mind participating in board game-adjacent stuff, though, where possible.
