STEP COUNT CHALLENGE
SPRING STEP

To take part you will need:

  • A mobile or smart watch (step tracking)
  • A heath app such as Google fit, fitbit, Samsung health or Apple health
  • Choose your own character (below)
  • Access to SGN discord (to send me screen grabs of your step count each night, before you go to bed)
  • 7 days of dedication (at your own pace)

Starting Monday 14th April until your midnight Sunday 20th Easter day

As before we have had a few themes,
our lord of the rings inspired "Walk to Morder"
Then our Halloween inspired "Zombie walk"
and last years "Walk of thrones"
This year we have gone with an easter theme.
The Person with the highest steps at the end of the week will walk away with an exclusive participation T-shirt.

--------------------------------

THE CHALLENGE

The premise of this challenge is simple.
[You go about your daily business, at the end of each day (Mon 14th to Sun 20th) you must send me a phone screengrab of your steps revealed to you in your health apps or a photo of your watch displaying its steps,
I will then move you on the map to the position of how many steps you have taken.
All your daily steps will add up toward your weeks progress.
Example:
Monday you did 7,000 steps,
Tues you did a further 10,000 steps for the day.. your total steps so far would be 17,000.
I will keep adding them and tracking totalling them.

You DO NOT have to be active at all, anyone can take part, its just for fun. Even if itys walking around the supermarket, walking your doggos or even on the treadmil.. all steps count.

The More Steps you do, the more I can Move you on the map above each day.

When you hit a Landmark that’s Listed on the map (below), you pick up a Crystal egg, each egg is worth 1 SWC. (to use in the Stonewall credits store)
Example.. if you do 10,000 steps , you have travelled from Home base, to the next land mark.. you pick up 1 egg and win 1 SWC
Do 10,000 or more steps the next day.. and you would have reached the next destination.. Another shard you have claimed!
You don't have to precisely hit the goal steps, so long as you have gone past the goals requested steps, you've made it.
Once you've hit the last goal, the challenge is complete!

The Goal is to hit each landmark and pick up as many Crystal egg's as you can.. and then if you go all the way, and hit the final goal (100k + steps by the end of the week) you've completed it!

THE STORY:

All participants will play as Bunny people in the land of Bunny Island, a calm and peaceful land full of lush green meadows and all the carrots you can only dream off.
Each year the Bunny people hold a festival to honour the Island god "GeeZues", They adorn his shrine with sacred crystal eggs in hopes that one day he would return.
However, an evil and slightly deranged foreigner from a far away land named "Grump" is slowly trying to take over this lush green land island, in doing so he has stolen all the crystal eggs and hidden them around bunny hop Island.
It is your task to find all the eggs (or at least some) and return them to the GeeZues shrine in time for easter.

HOW TO TAKE PART:

To take part please choose a character from the list below, and simply respond to this post with the character number you want.
I will then register you as a Step participant.

Remember to leave a response here with your chosen character number so I know your participating.

THE MAP:

On Monday the 14th April you start your steps, at the end of each day, take a screen grab and send to me via discord (GXV3)
at the beginning of each day I will update this map to the position your total steps are.
This map will change each day with your various positions (total steps).

PRIZES:

Each Crystal you collect, is worth 1 Stonewall credit, which you can use to purchase STO items or Steam games.
You can find more about Stonewall Credits by clicking your avatar in the top right, and selecting "Wallet".

This year the person with the most steps will win an exclusive T-shirt from our Redbubble store that no one else in the entire world will have... crazy right?

IN BRIEF:

  • Pick your your character from above
  • Leave the number of your chosen character as a response here
  • Monday 14th will be the 1st day to start counting your steps
  • Submit your screengrabs to me via discord message (@ GXV3) each night (7 days)
  • I will move all your total steps on the map daily, so keep checking back here on your progress each day
  • Easter Sunday (20th) is the last day to submit your daily steps
  • Results will be posted Monday 21st

STONEWALL HEALTH APP AWARDS:

As the week went on, I began to see some patterns emerge either with your steps or your behaviour, to that end I have created some lovely achievement badges in much the same way your Apple/google/fitbit/samsung health apps award you..
These are Stonewall health awards, you're welcome!

Awarded to Cal: poor little Cal was so excited to play,
but sadly a virus took hold of him and he was bed ridden,
even a hospital visit. get well soon Cal.

Awarded to DanaDark: Dana came into the challenge guns hesitant
but I felt at times he wanted to shoot me for making him walk,
However once Dana sticks to a task, he sticks till the end but deep down
he really wanted to eat cheesecake and sit in his bamboo chairs and talk
about St.Olaf.

Awarded to Dawn: Dawn was my favourite out of you all,
She was on time with her submissions, although hesitant and
full of doubt before we had begun, I watched her steps zip up
through the week contributing towards the total team steps.
Team player and massive thank you for joining in.

Awarded to Deathtech: As hes the top stepper, though seeing
his step count at first made me clutch my pearls, he explained his
job role and environment he worked in as well as showing me his daily average
congrats on being the top stepper and making it to the 100k checkpoint.

Awarded to Gladiator: Gladiator started the week strong
but as the week drew in, I noticed all time and space around him
begin to slow as if being stick in a blackholes grav well. oh my!

Awarded to Gravity: This young fella is very regimented
Gravity didn't go under 10k steps all week, he submitted his steps
near enough the same time, a creature of habit some may say.

Awarded to Ian: Ian on several times had to be chased for his
daily steps, even now today he has still not submitted his final steps
despite me waiting, this is indeed very naughty behaviour and I will
have to get my paddle out.. or my "Shame, Shame" bell to ding-a-ling
behind you as I walk you down the cobbled streets.

Awarded to Joshy: I fear Josh may get his batteries from poundland/Dollartree
as they appear to sadly have run out this week already, all jokes aside..
Thank you josh for taking part in each Stonewall step challenge you are
the backbone of each community event laid on.

Awarded to Jspectre: Well done joey, you are keeping the Doctor away
as you are always over the health boards recommended 10k steps per day,
even telling me you have taking up jogging whilst spotting the handsome
gentleman joggers around your area... another healthy exercise in my book.

Awarded to Mycroft: I noticed your steps go up and down every
other day, just like a human yoyo, to that end I award you this
achievement and award you with the title "stonewalls official bunny boy"
(because they hop..)

Awarded to Neoglyph: "always the bridesmaid never the bride"
As he was 2nd top stepper it is called for
to call him the bridesmaid of this challenge, and hopefully in the next
step challenge he will be the bride! Well done Neo you made a huge jump
on the final day to get your numbers up, 16k, you were so close! 90k!

Awarded to NicholasJohn: Nick is our resident Gym Bunny...
or so I thought.. as it appears he may have lost his gym pass last week
as he did more steps in the previous challenge. Im sure he will eventually
find it under the empty McDonalds boxes in his car.. I saw the Mcds icon in your notifications
on Mondays screenshot (fact) on your phone Nick

Awarded to Traull: Traulls step count was up and down this week,
Past challenges he was consistent but this challenge his counts were
up and down more than a nuns knickers. however still a great final total
and still the king of past step challenges, no one can take that away!

Awarded to Voleron: Our boy Voleron has been office based this week
but still managed to stay in or near the daily top 5, he also nearly hits the 10k
with each submission but JUST shy's away from hitting it.
Thus awarding him Just the tip award.
