USS Discovery in 3D

July 29 2016
For those of you interested in taking a closer look at the USS Discovery featured in the Star Trek: Discovery teaser, here's a link to an untextured 3D model on SketchFab that you can view from any angle.

It gives a much clearer idea of the different design elements used in the ship, and the Klingon influence along the pylons and nacelles seem very evident now.

Takei on Sulu being gay

July 29 2016
Wellp, the movie i saw had sulu's husband but no kiss, so it could have been played off as a blood relative taking care of demora.

I bet this controveray was caused to gauge the reaction of a gay character in discovery or the next film, who would know if they had kept quiet and just waved it off as family of blood relation?

NOW OPEN - OFFICE OF THE SHIPWRIGHT

July 29 2016
A ship that I can use in that function is the Fleet Arbiter. Though when I set her up she feels more like a science heavy tact. Though, It has its draws... i.e. sci recharge time is down. Tact recharge time is up, it is not as maneuverable as either sci or an escort.

The other ship I am playing around with is a fully loaded kelvin phaser and torpedo built Kelvin Connie. She is super fun but not my highest hitting ship I have built.

Hello. Returning player looking to rejoin

July 29 2016
Hi there!

Welcome back to Stonewall Fleet and to the Stonewall Gaming Network as a whole! We're happy to have you re-join us! I loved the new expansion, especially having watched TOS religiously as a kid - the throwback to everything that was familiar from the series really tickled me in all of the right TOS places :D

We'd love for you to follow the Stonewall Gaming Network on social media through your choice of Facebook and/or Twitter, and invite your friends to follow us as well! We'd also like to invite you to join our community group on Steam, where you can team up with your Stonewall friends for even more gaming! Click the icons below for quick links to each.

Finally, be sure to interact with us here in our forums, as it's where we post about our community events, share resources and have an opportunity to interact with one another outside of the games.

Welcome once again and I'll see you around the galaxy!

Hi Rhiannon,

It's great to have you back. Send me a message with all your CharacterName(s)@handle info so that I can re-enter your characters into our system. Do you need an in-game invite as well?

Cheers,

The Naked Time - Part 4 - Time

July 28 2016
Episode "Time and again", VOY

Oh that's a nice one. I love those episodes with Tom Paris, especially the ones where he is en route with one other crewmember only, in this case with Captain Janeway herself. The scene in which he found the clock which isn't ticking anymore reminds me of us finding the Antikythera mechanism. I also love this episode for being a good example for the so-called "Grandfather Paradoxon". In the picture below you can see the trigger point, where it all started (or ended?).

Thinking of all those time mechanics makes not only Janeway a headache, I get one also. Let's have a look at the grandfather paradoxon: If you could travel back in time, could you meet your grandfather? Of course you could. Could you take a drink with him? Yes, why not. But what if this drink makes your grandfather so tired (okay, perhaps you take more than one drink...), that he won't leave the house to meet your grandmother? You wouldn't be born, because one of your parents wouldn't be born too. So, if you weren't born, how could you travel back in time to start the cycle?

What do we learn so far? Gravity and Lightspeed are not that what we thought they were, but what about time itself? Could we alter history, if we were able to travel back or simply communicate with the past? The last should be possible in a few years from now, if I get these CERN people right. As you may know, CERN tries to detect the famous "Higgs Boson". While doing so, something very odd happened: the detectors registered a particle even before starting the experiment, which was intended to produce those particles. They repeated their experiment several times, and on two other occasions the same happened. The new particle is the "Higgs Singlet", and according to the new theory they develop right now the Higgs Singlets is capable of travelling through the space-time continuum in both directions, forward and backward.

Large Hadron Collider - A Time Machine?

Causality-Violating Higgs Singlets at the LHC

Please note: The links are links to pages where they discuss the theory, and that they want to detect those Higgs Singlets. They already found them, but, however, I don't find those links again. So if you find links that prove that they found the Higgs Singlet, please add them in a reply. ThanQ!

Character Biography

July 27 2016
Personnel File Number #20160624

Name: Pizzagasm, Zandor
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Place of Birth: Unknown
Date of Birth (Human calender): 2375, October 25th (age: 35)
Family & notable close aquintances:
- No blood relatives
- Krunoslav Dragovic (mentor, father figure, First Officer)

Rank: Admiral (stardate 20160810)
Posting: U.S.S. Leviathan (T6 Tactical Star Cruiser) (stardate 20160810); U.S.S. Valkyrie (T6 Science Star Cruiser) (stardate 20160810) (warship outfitted for extreme, high-risk missions - meaning PvP and the more difficult space PvE-queues)

One winter morning of 2383 a starved girl walked to the gates of the Starfleet base in the Netherlands, asking for food. Although the girl spoke perfectly Dutch, no family members could be traced. She had no memory save for wandering the streets that night and that her name was Zandor. The guard in charge of security that night, Lieutenant Commander Krunoslav Dragovic, was assigned to help her get her memory back. Nothing helped however, not even a Vulcan mind meld, and eventually Starfleet could do nothing for her anymore. Ltn-Cm Dragovic was ordered to bring Zandor to the nearest orphanage.

Dragovic however had bonded with the little girl by now. They kept in touch and developed a father-daughter relationship. Dragovic went to the orphanage every week to spend time with Zandor. She was bored at the orphanage. The schooling she got there was all old news to her. Although the orphanage tried to force her to follow the lessons, Zandor creatively managed to skip most of her classes. So Dragovic gave Zandor extra books to learn from. Mostly stuff that cadets get in their first year on the Academy. She went through them quickly and after Dragovic was sure she had actually learned it all, began training Zandor in his spare time. By the time she was fifteen, Zandor wanted to join the Academy. Dragovic appealed to the Academy to let Zandor enter early. After a lot of debating the Academy eventually let Zandor do a standard admission exam. Although she did not do it entirely perfect, she did better than a lot of other students who entered at a later age. Zandor was accepted and finished the Academy with honours.

Zandor (at this point having chosen the somewhat inappropriate “Pizzagasm” as a surname) joined Starfleet at the age of nineteen. By the time she was twentyfive, she was promoted to Captain, after saving the lives of over a hundred Romulan refugees in an almost fatal fight with the Tal Shiar. In the battle for Earth Space Dock several years later, Zandor acted swiftly when the Undine showed up and saved the lives of several Admirals, resulting in her own promotion to Admiral and more recently even Vice Admiral.

Looking at the deflector... there is no dish like the ENT/TOS era...
Also has exposed phaser turrets, 2 indented rings going around the rim of the saucer section.. it looks more like a the original movie era.

Reading the article above me that Eazzie posted.. im reading that they are still tweaking things and waiting for approval... they haven't officially said this ship wont be the final.. instead it reads as if they are talking more about the CGI graphics in the reveal video, than they are about the ship maybe changing.

Though the more I look at the ship, the more Im growing for it, it may be like a carrier ship!

Looks like this is where they got the idea for U.S.S. Discovery, there are quite a few scrapped projects they can pull from though.
