Do I qualify for retroactive leave?

It wouldn't be a bad idea to require every admiral and maybe even the fleet captains to take off a couple weeks every so often...maybe every 6 months. That would afford everybody in a leadership role some personal time to truly enjoy the game, community, and personal time without being subjected to the restrictions or burdens of 'command'. It's a great way to rejuvenate and come back energized, ready to tackle the challenges that burnt you out before but now are again new. Especially you, Nick, since like you said you've been heavily involved in the community for so long. I think all the Admirals should kick you out of the chair for at least one week a year so you can have 'you' time. Stonewall needs a chief medical officer to certify you as officially nuts during this period each year, or maybe the Admirals put it to a vote. LOL. Yeah, I've overthought this...like I do most things. :-)

A couple days ago, Elquin and I finished gathering the materials for unlocking the Basic Decorations Merchant in our guild hall (thanks everyone for contributing sand and vials of linseed!!!) so we can buy a bunch of crates and stuff to make our guild hall's own jumping puzzle (which we've made a ton of progress on! but that's another story). At the same time, Elquin wanted to start upgrading one set of furniture from Basic to whatever the highest tier is, starting with making a Simple Table. Turns out Simple Tables in this game are anything but. We ran into an amusing situation that I made a reddit post about that got over 300 upvotes:

Oh my god El that's amazing! I thought the whole map was just a giant cavern but it opens up? How long did that take?? And I'm assuming you were able to find a spot that allowed you to keep stacking crates ad infinitum? Very cool!

Building in Guild Wars 2 is fun, but it's usually only limited to Guild Leaders or officers. I want to give everyone a chance to try the decorating system, so we will be testing a new ranking that will be provided for the duration of the decorating event.

We will meet every Wednesday at 5 PM EST and allow 4 guild members to join us to build (number may increase after some testing). Members of the party will be given a temporary rank of Guild Decorator to allow them to place decorations. It is required that you use TeamSpeak (don't have to talk) so we can easily coordinate and offer assistance.

Guidelines for Decorating

1. Temporary Decorators may not remove decorations placed in the guild by other members.
2. Only pace decorations near you to ensure they are not lost.
3. Decorations that you place are temporary unless you request that they be made permanent. Must be approved by a guild leader.
4. Decorations that are purchased by guild members may be permanent so long as they are approved by the guild leaders.

Tune in to SWVG Wednesday at 5pm EST and ask for an invite, if you are interested.

We'll be meeting semi-daily for the time being, to test the decoration program. Official meeting will remain as Wednesday unless noted otherwise.
