Chrome doesn't like that the app is called "setup.exe" and suggests deleting it, since it considers it potentially dangerous.

Windows also prevents it from opening.

I think this chat is a great idea it is essentially extending the idea of the stonewall chat channel in STO across all the games potentially really opening up possibilites.

Very nice Nick :)

This is awesome; I had the chat app open while playing STO today. The transparency makes it easy to fit into my UI, and I'm excited for the possibilities. I'd really love to be able to chat with gamers across the Stonewall network that aren't necessarily playing the same game as me, so this is pretty amazing. Love it! Will definitely keep it open while I'm gaming, and I hope to see you all there too!

Q: Does this work as an overlay in STO too, or any game really, so we can chat with all online community members, not just those playing 1 game?

Yup, it should run on top of an app just fine. I had it open while watching Netflix yesterday.

SGN Chat

September 14 2015
One of the most frustrating shortcomings of Star Wars: The Old Republic has been its rather limited chat system. Not only are custom chat channels difficult to use, you’re also limited in how many you can join and can even be randomly dropped from them. Worst of all, they’re both faction and server specific. This makes communicating among our faction-specific guilds difficult and getting invites out to new members even more so.

We’ve come up with a novel approach to this ongoing issue, our own chat app. The app has unique features that fulfill a much-needed niche while helping our community take to it quickly. Instead of using the in-game chat, this app provides us with a cross-faction guild chat that we can utilize. Instead of new members having to hunt us down in-game, they can simply open up the app and give a quick “Hello”. That way, no matter what faction a member or guild officer is playing, they’ll be able to communicate with the entire in-game membership currently online.

Features

Transparency | When you first open the app, the UI will be transparent so as not to obstruct your game view. This also allows shadowed text to take center stage. Click the circle icon in the toolbar to turn the app opaque for better greater visibility.

Pinned | By default, the app is always on top, allowing you to still play your games while seeing what’s going on in chat. Click the thumb tack to toggle this on and off.

Quick Reply | Tapping the Insert key will bring the app front and center, even when you’re focused on another game or program. The text field is automatically selected and you can start typing right away and a quick Alt + Tab will get you right back in to the action.

So without any further ado, you can download the app here. This is the first official release of the app so there’s bound to be some bugs and other issues. Please give it a try and report back to me with any problems. You’re welcome to use it whenever you’re at your computer, not just when you’re in SWTOR. We’ll be using this as part of our overall goal to revitalize Knights and Lords of Stonewall and we look forward to seeing you in-game!

Note: You'll need to set your Full Screen Mode to Fullscreen (Windowed) for the chat to be visible while in-game.

My entries for challenge #1:

There's not a lot of variety in my pantry, but somehow, the items that I stock the most, have re-arranged themselves to honor the namesake of this event! Can you spot it?

This is a screenshot of my older self, discussing the time-stream with a Tholian representative, in an alternate dimension.

Finally, is a screenshot of me practicing Mokbara on the railing in front of the Club 47 fountain. It's where all of the Go-go boy dancers come before their shifts at the club, to limber up. I was taught the art of stretch and balance on the beam by none other than the head dancer, Go-Go Gary, and my private lessons are paying off, as you can plainly see!

This is THE definitive guide for fleet interaction -it should go on the stonewall front page and be a reading requirement with a quiz at the end before a person can join stonewall.

[RP] Roleplay Recaps (In Character)

Captain's log, Commander Rix reporting.

I want to say that my first command is going well, but unfortunately that would be a lie. I appreciate Captain Rayne recommending me for this assignment, but I'm starting to think twice about that. So far I've been met with nothing but maintenance logs and reports on how half of the ship is falling apart.

To be fair, she's an old ship. Because of the war, she was pulled from mothballs and assigned a crew fairly haphazardly. Under normal circumstances I'm sure most of the crew would still be assigned in training positions, but for now, we're doing the best we can.

I'm interested to see how things with my new first officer, Subcommander Rikala, will play out. She's already voiced her opinion on serving aboard a Starfleet ship, instead of getting her own warbird, and I can't say that I'm overly confident in how this might end up. However, after the incident on the holodeck where I was summarily blocked from most of the simulation, she showed excellent leadership and coordination.

I also want to put on file how well Lt. Janice Rand seems to be adapting to her new environment. It's not easy being thrown out of your own time period and into one with so many wars and new technology to get used to. She has a tendency to voice her opinion a bit more than her rank would dictate, but so far I don't see an issue.

With the new crew finally on board we can begin our first assignment. Luckily Command realizes we aren't ready for the front lines, so we're being asked to scout a nebula and refine raw materials for the local starbase.

Computer, end log.
