I am the Standard Phasers type of guy. Using Fleet Elites with DMGx2 and ACC. I started upgrading Consoles first, probably a bad idea.

Nick if you like blue go biomatter phasers the tetryon proc is really not worth it at all and biomatter phasers are pretty nice and still fairly cheap.

As for modifiers as a rule of thumb [acc]x2 is what people want unless you have lots of traits and abilities that increase your accuracy, remember you only do damage when you hit something.

I agree with the fact of using one energy type on a ship to minimize weapon drain and i stand by that rule, but if you like a certain type of energy whether it be tetryon, polaron or even if its tribble, use what you like and make adjustments if needed.

But personally i had wondered about the pierecing tetryon as well but never tested it. I would like to hear if it worth it due to its procs as well.

I hear that too, so I'm going for Acc or CtH nowadays rather than CtD or Dmg

I love the sounds of those phasers though (both ground and space!) pew pew!

I use tets on my klinky orion, after reading this i think it's time he got something greener...

looking at your table, time to move to either of the phased tets (preferred) or the refracting tets.

There's also Piercing Tetryon which I left off the table cause it doesn't come in a Beam Array, but it's secondary proc is a 2.5% chance to ignore 50% of an an enemies shields which sounds pretty nice to me.

I liked the tetryon beams too, they are better than disruptors at least.

I would love to know if this is something valid, I'm currently using tetryon beams on my aft and anti-protons on the fore, but if there is a better type of beam to use, I'm interested.

i love multicolour rainbows :) but word on the galactic street is to use one weapon type as this helps u use just one tac console enhancer plus maintains weapon power drain too

So I'm almost Level 15 in Beams so I'm doing a bit more research to decide what I want to use on my cruiser.

Damage TypeProc 1Proc 2
Retrofit Phaser2.5% Chance: Disable 1 SubsystemN/A
Tetryon2.5% Chance: -X to all ShieldsN/A
Destabilizing Tetryon2.5% Chance: -X shield drain per sec for 15 secN/A
Polarized Tetryon10% Chance: -X to all ShieldsN/A
Phased Tetryon2.5% Chance: -X to all Shields2.5% Chance: Disable 1 Subsystem
Refracting Tetryon2.5% Chance: -X to all Shields2.5% Chance:X Tetryon Damage to the next nearest enemy target

The Phased Tetryon have the combined procs of Phaser and Tetryon so that might be good. I don't care for the Refecting Tetryon's secondary proc of damage to the next enemy cause that just looks like tons of agro. Polarized Tetryon kinda looks the nicest of all with a proc 4 times as often, but it's the bad proc everyone warns me about. Which do you all think would be the best?

The only thing I'm worried about is the weapon attributes. My current weapons are [Dmg]x3. Some of the above versions will be difficult to get the same attributes meaning I'll actually be decreasing my DPS. Do you think [Dmg]x3 is worth keeping? I've heard some people prefer [Acc]x3.

Thanks for you input!

I wouldn't go all the way to outright say the Guardian isn't worth it, especially if you consider how early it is into the Delta (Up)Rising game. I bought the Delta pack not just for these ships, but because there are fleet versions of these ships just around the corner. It seemed more cost efficient to concentrate on the ship modules rather than buying each ship separately. So for me, it's too early to put a definite scarlet letter on any of the newer ships. I am in love with the Faeht for my Rommie, though. That is a certainty.

All in all however, I am still eyeing ships like the Odyssey in a T-5U version. But then I mostly pve. Keeping this in mind, I absolutely agree with Theodore that this "either/Or" mentality is absurd. It generally is nonsensical and only a seeding ground for arguments that take away from the enjoyment of the game. Everyone is going to like what they like no matter who says what about whom to who.

Delta marks / Npc scaling / Dil rewards - Tribble release notes - Nov 4th, 2014

November 07 2014
We did an Infected Space Advanced earlier (two high dps ships, one in the lower middle field and two low dps ships) and I can say that this ISA, compared to the one we did last week, was MUCH easier.

So, in my opinion, the NPC scaling worked.

And you have to consider that most of us haven´t upgraded all our weapons and consoles yet - which will take some time. But if this goal is accomplished then I think we won´t notice any difference between the old elite missions and the new advanced ones.

Greetings, A.M. :)

P.S.: Azure Nebula Advanced is new, isn´t it? If I remember it right then there was only one difficulty level (normal) before DR?

I’m not 100% sold on the Guardian vs a 5U Odyssey.

The basics:
The Odyssey 5U has better shields and better hull, while the Guardian does have an edge on maneuverability. You’re still flying a space-whale, so the Odyssey wins here.

BOFFs:

Hard one here. The Odyssey has 12 BOFF abilities, while the Guardian has and extra LT. Comm ability giving it 13 plus the ability to use Intel. That gives the Guardian an initial advantage. However, the Odyssey can assign an Engi to the Lt. Com post, giving it 2x Lt Com Engi abilities, which is a big plus if you are doing a EptS-EptW juggling build. It then boils down to does the console make up for this? Play style would dictate most likely.

Consoles:

The 5U gets 11 slots to the Guardian’s 10, and add in that you are using the Universal in one of the slots, the Guardian is put at a deficit. If a Fleet version with a extra console slot shows up, this would change things.

Starship Trait:

Guardian has one, the Odyssey doesn’t. (Yeah, technically speaking, you could have both ships fully developed and use it on the Odyssey)

My net feeling is that the Guardian is not worth it it you are looking to upgrade from a Oddy 5U, but definitely worth the look if you didn’t have an Odyssey. The starship traits add an interesting aspect to the mix, getting the Guardian and Eclipse traits on an Odyssey could be quite yummy.

New SWTOR Digital Expansion: The Shadow of Revan

November 07 2014
That would be so awesome, and all my freaking out about getting all my toons to 55 would mean significantly less! But that would be a good addition in my opinion, a lot of people have tried the game at this point, and a lot of people are eager to get to the new end game content, which has significantly improved over time. I think it'd be good for new players to the game, helping them feel like they can "catch up" to the more established players as well as the older players who have seen a lot of the 1-50 content before.

What do you all think about the NPC scaling?

Azure Nebula Rescue use to be one of my favorite missions, but on Advanced its almost impossible. You have to clear three groups in three minutes, but they've changed the mission so even the smallest groups have big enemies you have to fight. It's a bit frustrating.

There something to be said about Intell Boff powers tho. Override safeties + Beam Overload + Emergency power to Weapons + 3 Shield Penetraing Boff = Insta death. Subnucleonic Wave is an AOE Subnuc let that sink in. And Ionic Turbulence the wobble cloud...nuff said. I think there is a draw to the T-6 ships and there's a draw to the T-5U ships. I think the Guardian's console is most definitely giving the Odyssey a run for the staple Tank role. And the Dauntless is crap.
