I am a simmer too.. havent got the new exp tho.. heard it was rather buggy... and I'm waiting on some patches before I spend the cash... Not to mention, I like mods.. a lot.. and I'm waiting for them to be updated.

What are you're thoughts? I wasn't all that impressed with what's been described.. mini-games, and what not...

I heard they finally made basements an actual build type, rather than the "work arounds that have been there since Sims 1... that true?

I used to play the original sims and would be a big dork and make my own survivor/big brother style game show out of it. Make a big family, make everyone extremely different personalities. Force them in a house together, and watch the carnage unfold.

Every week I would take each person's most hated houseguest and that would be their 'vote'. Whomever had the most got to jump into the pool of death (had no escape ladder) since there was no move out option in the original. lol

It was a lot of fun, I'd make myself and friends and put us all in. And usually 1 person I couldn't stand (every show needs a villain).

Was always a lil weird when poor lil Sim Jager had to take a dip in the pool.

I love Sims.

I tend to create characters (and places for that matter) from my real life as well. I have an easier time connecting with them. I also enjoyed killing off people I was upset with (like a bad boss and messy roommate) in Sims2, but I haven't experimented with it yet in 3. In 2, I really liked the room with no door death, or the fire in the room with no door.

I got the new expansion...it is so buggy it's driving me crazy. I might UI it until there are a few patches for it, because it makes me think twice before playing.

Sims 3 is the first Sim game I've ever tried, and I have to say, I loved it! I was expecting to not enjoy it, but spent a lot of time last summer living the sim life!

I'm a huge Sims 3 fan...

The only games I really play at the moment are:
  1. Star Trek Online
  2. Sims 3
  3. Starcraft 2
  4. Civilization V

I have all the expansion and stuff packs and I'm also looking forward to the new Outdoor Living Stuff pack coming out in a month!

I love my gay Sims, my gay Vampire Sims.... and just my Sims in general.... And of course all my custom content

Hehe, yeah Rickster, most of my town is gay in the Sims 3 -- best way to be! ;) Actually it seems like we have a lot of similar gaming habits.

Star Trek Online
The Sims 3
Civilization V
Spore

And now I'm playing Star Trek: A Final Unity since I've gotten the old DOS version working on Windows 7. :) I've been very loyal to The Sims and Civilization since their first versions, and will continue to be -- love the expansion packs.

Do you like to play Sims 3 with any custom content? I have over 1GB of custom content that I use in my games... and also use several game play modifications (including Vampire Overhaul, and Baxim's CORE mod).

I'm also a Spore fan but haven't played it in quite some time.

I loved Star Trek: A Final Unity. Definitely one the best Star Trek games made and god knows there have been tons of them.

Did you start seeing people with Green Plumbob's floating over their heads? LOL

@SaintPlazma, you might get a kick out of this video parody of the Sims...

LOL No one likes a Sim with TOOO much autonomy.... LOL

Kinda like a misbehaving pet.... LOL At least you can always build four walls around them and make them starve or don't let them out of the swimming pool.... if they piss you off... LOL

They need to bring magic back to Sims 3. There is a custom mod out there for magic (which is nice) but it's not the same.

I play Sims as well, although not as much as I used to.

When Sims 1 came out, I bought every exp pack, and I mean EVERY one! Out of them all, I liked "Hot Date" the best - still remember the "Create A Sim" free add-on that allowed you to make potential dates for your sim and import them into the "downtown" area. My crowning glories for Sims 1 was "Dive," a nautical-themed upscale restaurant (inspired by the 1993 Sarah Brightman album of the same name) and "The Brig," a military-themed gay bar. How did I make a gay bar, you ask? It was easy - for the entrances, I used men's rooms doors. That way, female sims couldn't enter. ;) It was kinda funny to see them try and enter, then stomp their feet and storm off when they couldn't...all except Old Lady Crumplebottom. I don't know how she managed it, but she always found a way to get in. Maybe she was really a dude?

When Sims 2 came out, I only picked up the basic game - I felt cheated. I had spent soooo much money on Sims 1, and now everything I had done was pretty much obsolete.

As for Sims 3, the only things I have are the Collector's edition, High-End Loft Stuff and Late Night. I probably won't pick up any more since I have a lot of other things on my gaming plate. One thing I did notice though - if you play "Late Night" using one of the other Sims towns and not Bridgeport, the vampire angle pretty much turns your town into "'Salem's Lot"

I just got the new stuff pack for Sims 3: Outdoor Living Stuff.

I haven't installed it yet because I like to make sure some of my custom gameplay mods have had a chance to get updated before I add it. That way I avoid loosing all the additional updates/changes I enjoy playing with...

I was wondering anyone has gotten the new stuff pack and what they think of it?

I'm looking forward to the new Hot Tubs, and the out door objects... My Gay sims will love throwing parties in the backyard with some of these new objects and interactions.

My boyfriend and I just made ourselves on his Sims 3 game. We gave ourselves our proper signs (I'm a Leo, I forget what he is because I don't follow that stuff much, but he's beginning of May). We tried to make our personality traits true to life, too. We were both Artistic and Absent-Minded (or whatever it's called there). My others are Vegetarian, Eccentric, and something about being outgoing or something. His others were Computer Whiz, and I forget what else.

Next time I'm at his place I'm hoping to design our house. I've gathered that I'm better at that aspect of the game than he is.
