Just saw "The Girl Who Waited." We're over a week behind because I need to wait for a certain fiance to be "in the mood" to watch it.

Was going to complain about having to get used to these "British" seasons of only 12 or so episodes only to come to the realization that one of my favorite shows now off the air (The 4400) and one of my new favorites (Falling Skies) are also only 12 or so episodes a year.

Predictions for this evening? I think the Doctor saves the Tardis but dies of radiation exposure. His body gets launched in a photon torpedo, which soft-lands on the Genesis Planet and the season ends with us all wondering if he's gone for good...

I bet that doesn't happen. ;)

We're looking forward to it, but I wouldn't begin to try to guess what's going to happen. (Plus: spoilers!) Doctor Who is consistently the one show that keeps me guessing and still manages to hoodwink me time after time. And I love it!

So whatever I could come up with, I'm pretty sure Steven Moffat will come up with something better. Only 6 more hours....

Plus, the Doctor's already died of radiation poisoning (without any of that hilarious hair falling out or skin blistering that normally accompanies it.)

That ("The Wedding of River Song") was fun. No huge surprises, but a good, satisfying story.

The Wedding of River Song left me tickled pink... well, more pink than usual. B)

I have to agree with Propecius; this is one of the few shows that I cannot figure out the plot twists ahead of time which is a delight. I kept thinking; "ok how is he not gonna die this time?" I totally thought the Doctor that was killed at the Lake was going to be a rebel flesh clone but I was yet again surprised.

And the end; we finally know "the question!" hehe, I won't say it on here for those who haven't seen the episode yet. As dear Professor Song would say; "spoilers!"

Also, was it ever explained why the "Silence" aliens all wear rumpled suits?

I'm guessing it's to make them look extra creepy. The makers of Doctor Who seem to have struck on this fantastic truth that combining something freakish and alien with something familiar, dull and ordinary makes it even scarier and more creepish. ("Are you my mommy?" Though nothing about that was alien in appearance.)

=edit=

I suppose one answer would be because they can't wear normal T-shirts, and the V necks that would fit over their heads would have to be cut down to their navel. :p

I like your explanation better than any I could think up.

But now you have me wondering how they button up their shirts with those huge, long fingers. Maybe they have to get humans to dress them using their post-hypnotic powers. But now that people are out to kill them all, there's nobody to dress and undress them, so the next time we see them, can we expect their suits to be even wrinklier?

OK, maybe I think about this stuff too much. I'm going to bed.

Must be linen suits, too. I've never seen anything else get rumpled like that.

Hey everyone! I've been wanting to comment on this thread for AGES, but was refraining because I hadn't gotten through everything. But just five minutes ago, I finally finished Season 6! And holy crap, that was awesome, but I'm worried I'm starting to think like the Doctor. :P

Anyway... yeah! Doctor Who fan here! Got turned on about 5 months ago, watched everything on Netflix, then watched Season 6. Favorite Doctor is Tennant, but I love each one in their own special way. Favorite companion is a tie between Amy Pond and Donna Noble.

And I'm dressing up as the 11th Doctor for Halloween. Finding a super cheap tweed jacket at a thrift store this past weekend was a strike of luck!

That's awesome, wait till you see season 7, Tennant is still my favorite too and I love Donna Noble. Season 5 is my favorite season, especially the end when all the child of time come together to fight the Daleks. river song is definitely my favorite part of seasons 6-7.

Series 7 hasn't been aired yet. Still have to wait for the Christmas special before we have to wait a few months after to see series 7. : /

Aw, I was worried about how the numbering worked. So, what I call Season 6 is the second Matt Smith season. I don't consider the set of specials that ended Tennat's run ("Planet of the Dead", "Waters of Mars", and "The End of Time") to be a separate season, because each were just long episodes.

So basically, I've seen all of the current Doctor Who. And yes, I loved the latest season. It was fantastic. I really liked how this season's finale took a departure from the last few, where it wasn't trying to pull at heartstrings. It was mostly a really funny romp, and I loved that. Matt Smith is at his best when the Doctor is just being goofy and weird.
