Doctor Who?...

I'm not too enthused about the whole M.C. Escher stairways in the Tardis. It was neat in Labyrinth, it was appropriate in Warehouse 13, but now it's just a bit overused and I'm not really happy about it being in the Tardis. I have lots of memories from watching the old series where there were adventures inside the Tardis; it gave you a sense of...

Not so much scale, but of vastness. As I child the episodes gave me anxiety because it made me feel that the Tardis had nearly infinite space, inside, in which one could easily get lost and NEVER be found.

The new Cybermen episode looks excellent from the artwork, but then I looked up the production shots and the costumes disappoint me. I was MUCH happier with the costumes introduced in "Rise of the Cybermen." I just hope they can clean them up in post.

I don't think the M.C. Escher stairways are actually going to be featured in the episode. I think the poster art is just to illustrate the labyrinthine aspect of the TARDIS. Having said that I'm sure we'll see some sections of the ship that definitely defy the "normal" laws of physics.

The poster for the Series 7 finale has been revealed!



It looks like this episode may resolve a number of plot threads that have been left hanging over the course of Moffat's run on the show. Alex Kingston is in the episode, so we may see how River Song knows the Doctor's name. Additionally, The Silence's acts in Series 6 were all apparently to stop the Doctor from answering The Question, to which is name may be the answer, according to prophecy.

I'll also be interested to see if it resolves one of the questions left at the end of Series 5. It was never revealed who took control of the TARDIS when River Song was piloting it in the Series 5 two-part finale, though presumably it had something to do with The Silence (a voice saying "Silence will fall" as a monitor cracked, after River left to investigate Amy's house .) The fact that the poster shows the TARDIS windows smashed hints that we may get an answer.

Anyway, very excited for the episodes to come.

I do remember the screen in the Tardis cracking and that voice saying "Silence Will Fall." It sounded a lot like Devros to me.

Yeah, but not exactly. I've heard theories ranging from Devros to the Master. My theory is that it's actually a future version of the Doctor, who has become so self-hating over his long life that he is attempting to destroy his past self.

Well it seems that spunky little Jenna Louise Coleman tweeted a few hints about the mystery of Clara. Perhaps Moffat is going to earn a bit of redemption if this little plot arc has been 2yrs in the making.

Not reading that spoiler. I want to be surprised. As it is, Wikipedia fucking spoiled the identity of River Song for me. I went to look at Alex Kingston's page right after I started Series 6 (after it had aired) and there it was, right there in the first sentence.

By the way, so far "Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS" is may favorite episode of the season. Good mystery, nice bit of timey-wimey shenanigans, and I definitely enjoyed the immense amount of references to past episodes when Clara was running through the various rooms.

I loved the finale and the explanation behind Clara. I loved that they used the old footage and spliced her in there like that. The whisper men were quite scary and the rhyming was cool. I know it was was coming but I was sad to say goodbye to River Song. I wished they'd done it to how it was supposed to be done where the Doctor was to give her the "upgraded" sonic screwdriver with the flash drive for her consciousness. That wouldn've made for some excellent drama and plot continuity but at least she got to go out with her two most awesome lines "spoilers" and "sweetie." They also set up for the 50th anniversary special and the appearance of the true 9th Doctor, John Hurt. That would make Matt Smith's the 12th Doctor which I think means he can't regenerate anymore unless he wants to end up like The Master.

He may be able to go past 12 seeing as River gave all her regenerations to him to save him in 'Lets Kill Hitler'. I do not think that this is the last we will see of River Song. :-)
