Star Trek Sword used in Robbery

A friend ran across this article today on the internet about a man robbing a store in CO with a "Star Trek Swoard" as the reporter called it.

My question would be whats a down and out person doing with a cheap sword, probably stole that too.

Yep, definitely dumbest criminal. I am surprised he didn't get laughed at when trying to hold up a store.

I just thought it was funny that the reporters on a couple of spots kept referring to it as star trek sword. They could have at least looked it up and and found the right name.

A few years ago I was reading in the newspaper, here in the UK, and saw a photograph of a police officer with a Bat'leth, as someone had handed one in as part of a knife/swoard amnesty.
