Hopefully the stay actually does get lifted. This gives the proponents of Prop 8 time to file an appeal to the 9th Circuit, who could put an injunction on lifting the stay until they've had time to rule.

Also, I'm rather ticked at Lambda Legal. I originally heard from them that the stay had been immediately lifted, which was wrong. Apparently they got their info from a blogger. What kind of legal agency gets its news from a freaking BLOGGER!?

Judge blocks same-sex marriage in California

A federal appeals court in San Francisco has blocked same-sex marriage in California, until it hears broader questions over the constitutionality of such marriages. The brief order from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals set aside a federal judge's decision last month permitting same-sex marriages to resume.
