Planning Ahead - Star Trek Convention Aug 2011

I figure if we plan in advance, more folks will be able to make it happen. So I'm gonna put out the idea right now for us to have a gathering at the Trek Convention in Las Vegas August 11 - 14

My bf and I will be going and possibly looking for someone to share room costs.

We'll also be driving from Portland Or and can seat 3 other people in the van for carpooling.

I have created a group for people to join to discuss the Vegas trip and exchange information on rates for various things (hotel, gas, flights, etc.)

Hmmm, this sounds interesting. Would love to go, but I'm going to a Disney on Ice reunion with the hubby like 2 weeks earlier and I'm being badgered to go to Southern Decadence. DECISIONS! bleh.

If the next year is anything like this years, the convention is TONS of fun. I have to say, dressing up in cotumes also adds to the experence. It was fun, but I think after I dressed up it became a lot more fun.

Not to mention getting to meet all the great people in the fleet!

Star trek con > Disney on Ice reunion. i'm just guessing on that one.

Yes, The con would be more fun for ME but the reunion is a 20th anniversary for people that were on the show *I think.* lol

I'm planning on the same thing! I'm most excited about being a klingon though.

My mom lives in Vegas...so I just need to make "family visit" align with ST convention. Then I can embarrass my family by dragging them along with my bf and I (who I'll also be dragging)

I'll be going too, I live in LA and will be flying in, I hate that drive, its 4 hours but it feels like 8 and its the hottest time of the year, hell-to-the-no!

Since I live in Vegas I'll be here. Unlike last year (when my old friend showed up with his wife) I should be free the whole time.

I am buying an ItsOkayToBeTakei shirt, and I plan on getting George Takei to sign it.

That alone will be worth the cost :)
