It's not really comparable to that. This is the only state to pass such legislation, it's not related to our national government. It only affects schools in Tennessee. Still, it's disheartening that it would pass in any state. I should think their politicians would have better things to worry about than whether their school history books mention the start of the gay rights movement and such.

Yes, Tennessee is the first state here in the US to work to pass such legislation. The state government is two bodies, like that of the US government. We have the Senate and the House of Representatives. The senate is the one that passed the legislation.

The house removing it, isn't a sign of hope. It was removed to see how it does in the senate. Now that it has passed, the Republican law makers can work the bill towards consideration for next year.
