Do you play STO? SWTOR? Both? If so, how much do you play each? I'm just curious what the split here is going to be.

I know I used to play STO -- lifetime membership there. But since SWTOR came out, I haven't touched STO. I'm sure I'll get back to STO at some point here and there; I'm very curious about the FTP setup now. But Star Wars has been keeping me so occupied that I have spent every possible moment I could playing it. It's so freaking addictive and engaging! I don't think STO will ever be my main game again, but I will keep revisiting it.

Currently: STO 0%, SWTOR 100%
Future (est.): STO 5-10%, SWTOR 90-95%

I only play SWTOR but the things you guys talk about make STO seem fun but then I log into Star Wars and forget what STO is lol.

I'm mostly focusing on SW:TOR at the moment, but I've got a lifetime membership of STO and I love that game too, so I'll be back.

As for the membership of both guilds, it's not easy to tell as we have a lot of people in both games, but we are still getting as many, if not more, new member applications for STO as SW:TOR. I think both are pretty equal and I'm glad we have fnally found a place where Star Trek and Star Wars fans can get along, lol.

STO all the way for me! I'm on at least 5 or 6 days a week! I'm trying to get my MK XII Sets doing elite STFs. (They're tough as hell) Plus, the Doff System, Deferi Invasions, and the Foundry are way too addicting lol :D Yeah, a lot of things changed the past month, so it'd be nice to see some people come back and try out the new features. Skill system is much more balanced and makes more sense now, the fleet is growing at a rapid pace ^_^

I did try the Beta of SWTOR, and I do agree that the VO and visuals are phenomenal, but space combat was a joke, and even ground gameplay isn't as exciting for me as in STO. I love shooter mode in STO.

I play STO over here. Have not had the funds to invest in SWTOR yet, but I plan on trying out though. As Eurrsk said, the Doff system and the afoundry are what keep me coming back everyday (there are so many great missions on there). Anyway, always preferred Star Trek to Star Wars so STO will always be my main game I think (hey, maybe that will change when I get SWTOR lol).

Also, quick question for anyone who knows. Which of the jedi related classes in SWTOR is better (I know there are two of them, forgot the names)? What are the benefits of each one?

It's hard to call any one of the classes 'better' from an objective perspective. It's more about your play style preference and interest in story more than anything.

The Jedi Consulars evolve into either a Tank/Stealth melee DPS role (a Shadow wielding a Lightsaber Staff), or a Healer/Damage ranged role (a Sage wielding a Single Saber).

The Jedi Knights evolve into either a Tanker/Melee DPS role (a Guardian wielding a Single Saber) or a pure DPS role (a Sentinel, I believe, wielding Dual Sabers).

Both have a unique class storyline. I don't know much about the Knight's story yet (my Knight is only around level 3 or 4), but I've gotten to partipate in most of the Consular's story vicariously through my husband. At least he first Chapter, deals with a Force-borne plague infecting the Jedi masters (Varel, my husband has been playing the Consular). We just started Chapter 2 (of 3 Chapters, I believe) at level 35, his new Chapter (at least at the start) seems to be about diplomacy to help keep the Republic together (by contrast, my Trooper's Chapter 2 is starting off with the discovery of a devastating new Imperial weapon I need to prepare an assault against).

I currently only play SWToR and love it!!!!

I plays STO for about 1.5 hours, without offending anyone who plays STO....the game wasn't for me. :)

I've been looking over our membership data as of late so I've put together this little graph to show the growth of our membership base over time. The purple line represents our total membership over time, the blue line is Stonewall Fleet membership and the red line is Knights of Stonewall membership. The grey bars in the background is the number of people that joined each day.

A few numbers here: We have 1,506 members total, 1,059 members of Stonewall Fleet and 483 members of Knights of Stonewall. There is a bit of an overlap there for the members that play both. These numbers are based off of the "Would you like to join" question that people are asked at registration so this might not be 100% accurate.

Love the graph, Nick. That's just what I was wanting. Glad to see STO is still going well and that SWTOR hasn't cannibalized everything.

Well if the graph is working the way I think there isn't an option when joining to choose None for STO so all new SWTOR members are also showing as new STO members.

True, but if you look at the rate new applications have been coming in STO, that at least shows an uptick even since SWTOR was released. That coupled with the anecdotal evidence of chatter on here about different events and the time I heard in Star Wars chat in-game "Help! I'm in Vent with a bunch of Trekkies!" would at least seem to indicate that things are going reasonably well there. I'm really glad. I was afraid Star Wars would cannibalize everything in STO.

May the force be with you as you live long and prosper.

There's an option in everyone's profile called "Would you like to join?" for which there are three main options, "I'd like to join Stonewall Fleet.", "I'd like to join Knights of Stonewall.", and "I'd like to join Stonewall Fleet & Knights of Stonewall.". That's what this graph is based off of. Anyone that selected either "I'd like to join Knights of Stonewall" or "I'd like to join Stonewall Fleet & Knights of Stonewall" is counted as a member of Knights of Stonewall. Anyone that selected either "I'd like to join Stonewall Fleet" or "I'd like to join Stonewall Fleet & Knights of Stonewall" is counted as a member of Stonewall Fleet. This way anyone that joined both is counted as a member in both the graph for Stonewall Fleet and Knights of Stonewall.

There are also a few options to the join question that aren't represented in the guild specific graphs, but are counted in the All Members graph.

Ah yes I completely forgot about that spot! Thank you for clarifying I was thinking of the character portion of that (my mistake).

As a scientist at heart, I love a graph. Thanks!

Back to the original question, I'm a STO player from open beta, lifetimer, and I haven't been back in the game (STO) significantly since SWTOR came out. I expect I will get back to STO once some of the novelty of TOR wears off.

Contrary to what others have said, the DOFF stuff (and other changes they made at the same time) in STO has actually put me off that game a bit. I had spent a good amount of time learning the game as I played, and felt a little like they changed the rules on me by adding all that. The duty officer system is similar to the crew skills part of TOR, which I'm still working on learning, but at least in TOR I'm learning the whole game as I go. Now suddenly STO, which used to be a comfortable place to while away some time, has become confusing and uncomfortable for me again.

(Before people shout about how I'm wrong, and duty officers are the best thing since sliced processing, I'm just talking about my own personal emotional response. It's not logical, and maybe when I get the hang of it I'll love the DOFF system. It just makes me a bit ... uneasy. Maybe it's the change from familiar to unfamiliar that's bothering me. I'm not sure.)

So that's me. Your mileage will (no doubt) vary.

Since I haven't time/money for two MMOs, and since I've never had a deep emotional investment in the Star Wars franchise, it's STO for me.

Chart is great but a little miss leading.

I know when I joined this site options for STO where already selected. I changed them to SW:TOR and thought that was that. Just recently we where asked to add our character names in SWToR to the site. I did that and notice that STO was again checked off.

The real check would be how many folks are on line at any given time in STO? Charts are great but if you log in and there are less then 20 folks on the chart looks a little off.

SW:ToR has done a number on Rift. Now when I log in if there are 5 folks on in the guild that is considered a lot of folks. Also I can see that the main city and major questing areas are pretty much empty. (Empty as compared to before SW:TOR came out)

Just my nickle and dime and I'm sure others will disagree with me.
