I've created a 16 plot region for Stonewall members in SimCity 5! I'm really excited to play with all of you and have some fun.

It appears there are 5 different severs in SimCity: 2 for the US, 2 for Europe, and 1 for Oceanic. I'm not sure how these servers will affect us playing together. I currently have my set to North America East 1. You can change your server on the launcher screen.

How to Get an Invite
If you'd like to join the region, please add me, NicholasJohn16, as a friend on Origin. I'll accept your friend invite as soon as I see it. Replying to this thread will help me get to it quicker. Then I'll send you an invite to the region. I believe, for the invite to be possible, you need to log in to North America East 1 and at least complete the tutorial. Once you've been invite to the region, you'll be able to accept in-game and claim a region. Please only claim one.

Is it still in Beta? I'd be interested in playing I've always loved the Sim City games.

Kahless, I'm having the same problem when adding you. I think there servers are just a little busy. Ill keep trying though.

I'm chemkarate (shocking!), so please add me! I'll be installing this tonight. Playing depends on how much time I have between karate practice and bed, and if EA's servers are cooperating.

I can only invite players that already have the game so our EU friends, I'll save you a spot if you reply here and invite you on the 7th. The whole invite thing is a bit complicated though. We have to be friends (Both a friend request sent and accepted) before I can invite you, so it might be quicker if you friend me as soon as you can!

Just tried playing and it was a miserable failure. Not only can I not join a North American server, but regardless of the server I choose, it won't let me create a city.

Remember when creating a city in SimCity was just a simple matter of hitting the 'Play' button?

I seriously want a refund for my nonfunctioning copy of SimCity so I can pirate a functioning copy of SimCity.

The game is telling me that North America East 1 is full, not sure if I'll be able to play with you guys :(

If I can't get into a North America server, I can hopefully lead up the Euro guildies cities in a nice region too :D If people want that, and, that it is ok to do so :)

So far I've got KiddKasper and TodOverton into the region and they've claimed a spot. I was able to invite Tocanis which hopefully means we all don't have to be on the same server to play together. Let me know if you got the invite Tocanis!

Yeah, I'm not so happy about the "always online" game play they've opted for. The server just went down for maintenance while I was in the middle of working on my city. There was not warning before hand, just a pop up that said, the servers were going down and the game was closing.

Actually, after a little research it appears we have to be on the same server.

• Cities and regions cannot be moved to another server or accessed from another server.
• There are no language or location restrictions on servers, so you can play with your friends from around the globe, and connect with players from all over the world
• If a server becomes full, new players will not be able to join - only players with a region on that server will be able to access it.
• Players trying to join extremely busy servers may not be able to join immediately, and will have to wait until space becomes available.
• If a server is unavailable, players will be informed through a Server Status Alert on the SimCity launcher.
• Your friends list will only ever display friends who are playing on your current server.
• You can play on any server in any location you'd like. The geographic location of your server won't affect your gameplay or cause any lag or loading issues.

I tried again after a while and it let me on the East 1 server, so it doesn't mean the population is locked down. I'll check to see if I got the invite.

I was really excited for this game, but 80 bucks and origin always online has me cautious, D3's always online was a miserable experience.

Guys, please do be careful with simcity, atm. I was a beta tester and I really wasn't overly impressed, the issue of server diconnects and failures was awful. Even upon launch there's been a hefty backlash by players who cant even download the game, let alone log in to actually play it.

My advice would be to wait a week or so after the release date in your country before playing. Frustration is a bad component when trying to play a game you paid for! :)

Amazon just pulled the download version of SimCity from their website. Additionally, they're doling out refunds. Right after the game got pulled, and found out that EA was removing features from the game to increase server stability, I contacted Amazon customer support and got a full refund.

This game has been an unmitigated failure. I know some people have gotten to play, but on the whole this has been completely unacceptable. This is the first time, in my life, I have ever returned a game for a refund. I don't think I'll be buying another EA game any time soon.

I highly recommend that, if you haven't purchased this game yet, you do not do so. It simply does not work. Additionally, if you bought your copy through Amazon, you can get a full refund.
