possible new FED SHIP???
COOL NICK! Now that I've read up on Perpetual, definately seeing that it belongs to a particular artist on his portfolio site.
I really really like the mix of smooth rounded edges with the hard lines mixed in. Too often in ship design it's either all angular or all streamlined. I like when designers have the balls to mix them together and dare to be different. This ship feels really really Star Trek to me and the artist that did this ship is QUITE talented if you look at his work.

A LOT of Ryan Dening's work is SUPERB. Even though these designs are years old they feel fresh and are certainly miles ahead of some of the worst we have in game ( IE star cruiser ( emissary, vanguard, sentinel and nomad ) not to mention the shameful galaxy variants ( envoy and celestial ). I would have to say the one that makes me most ILL is the majestic !!

I vote for these to be decommissioned and recycled for parts, never to be seen again!

If I'm not mistaken, that was a concept drawing from the company that was originally developing STO before cryptic started working on it. I forget who the original company was but that was definitely part of their info page on the official star trek site years ago. I think there may be licensing issues with the original company for using it but perhaps they're finally resolving it and we'll see it in game. :)
Perpetual Entertainment. When Perpetual Entertainment went belly up and Cryptic got the rights, they also got all of the intellectual property from PE, including the alpha game engine that had created, but the threw everything out cause they wanted to use their engine, except for some artwork.
You can actually see this ship ingame. When you warp into many sector defends, you'll see this ship broken and abandoned near the spawn point, as kind of a nod towards the PE STO.
