Swordsman Closed Beta

Open beta starts July 3rd.

So they put out the codes for the closed beta players to get a special outfit.

Unfortunately, the code is only for one character, so if you have a nice costume given to you by your school you may want to give the code to a character whose school gives them an outfit that you don't like (like me and the Harmony/Zephyr school costumes.) Unfortunately for me, I used mine on my Sun Moon character and the special costume I received was a white version that doesn't look anywhere near as nice as my Sun Moon outfit (which as you can see from a screenshot earlier in this thread, looks a bit like a cross between Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia).

So yeah.

Also, be very careful as it will only give you the code once upon logging into Arc. If you close the little pop up window you will permanently lose it. Mine was blank at first but it had 2 pages and I switched back and forth and it showed up.

Unless you got a code and don't plan to play the game, in which case, I'll be happy to take your code. :3

I didn't see that I got any costume from the code, only a horse. I'll have to go back and check later.

Hmm.. Hero and Starter packs both get a horse, I know. I see lots of announcements of people opening their CBT gifts and getting the shadowpyre costumes, though.

You know, there was a box that I couldn't tell what it is, and I clicked it and it disappeared--that must have been the costume.

From what I read on the forums, you can submit a ticket for them to get you your CBT code if you closed the window on it. The only reason I didn't is because I habitually read the steam pop up window in case there's an awesome sale on. :3

So... Bit of an update on Swordsman.

It turns out that the gorgeous costumes you get from your martial arts schools only last 7 days 13 hours. After that, they poof from your inventory.

Same with that Closed Beta Test gift costume. After 7 and a half days, poof, they weren't really that thankful.

Everyone's back to using either the starting costume, the gear outfit (which seems to be the same for every single piece of gear I pick up) or a costume you buy with $8-$12 of your real money. That could be used to buy a meal.

It may not seem like anything important, but my costume is very important to how I feel about a game. So unless they start handing out 1200 sycee to everyone so they can rebuy their school outfit from the store, I'm pretty much finished with it.

Yup, there's a poorly thought out customer-relations nightmare.
