Recruitment

One of our biggest issues right now is recruitment. We need to drive in new members. There's a big space open right now for an active GLBTA guild in TOR and we can fill it!

I'd love to hear all of your ideas and input on how we can recruit for the guilds more effectively. While I generally shy away from this, we can start by shouting out in general chat for Knights and Lords of Stonewall. For Instance:

The biggest challenge in SW:TOR is that you can't send or receive offline guild invitations or friend adds; both parties must be online at the same time. For me, I only play sporadically and don't necessarily plan in advance when I'm going to play, so I have been unable to join. There are all sorts of annoyances like this built into the game to get you to pay for a subscription.

Yup, that's a big obstacle that we need to get around. The greatest thing that would help with that is getting more people in-game with the invite ability.

In addition to the offline thing, is also the no crossfaction chat, and that some of us are not playing regularly. I personally have loved the new STO stuff and have not pay much swtor, due to the lack of new story content in swtor.

The crossfaction lack of chat is what i would say is really the worst part of it. In sto i can play my kdfrom, hear someone needs help on a fed only mission, swap and help them, i cant do that in swtor. Although i can use teamspeak to cover that, not everyone has teamspeak, especially possible new converts.

The most basic, traditional approach may be the best one in this matter and that's broadcasting in zone chat that we're recruiting. Qiqjoe got to new members last night just by doing that.

There's posting on pinterest and other social media and of course there's a guild recruiting section on the TOR forums as well.

Yeah, I just did a one-time advert for KoS at Tython. Figured I wouldn't spam a lot, but I tried to do it during a lull in the conversation so it got attention and didn't get moved off the screen so quickly. I also did this on the LoS and the fleets but no luck there. Always worth trying.

I'm happy to help in anyway I can. I keep monitoring the Los and KoS chat channels and will happily post some info around on soical media if it'll help.

The online invite restriction is annoying but I guess it is what it is.

Would anyone else like to help out with recruitment? It'd be great if everyone posted the in general chat about the guild, but some dedicated members to helping with recruitment would make things go even better.

Awesome. I'm playing mostly empire side at the moment but don't have any toons in the Los guild, if I could arrange an invite, I can start posting in chat. I'll start posting around on twitter and fb anyway and see what happens :)

I need an invite to the guild, does it matter what server you are on?

Yes, you would need to be on Harbinger Server in order to be invited to the guild.

OK I have made a character on the proper server, however now I am getting an error trying to log in and I need help. Running windows 10 and getting "certificate authentication failed"

what can I do?

Our SWTOR guilds aren't active so I'm not surprised that you didn't receive your invite. I've all but moved to a different server myself. I don't really like The Harbingers general player base anyway.

Sorry I missed you there, I was out running errands when you msg'd be. Did you get my response? I'll keep looking for you but could you also please let me know if your toon is Imperial or Republic? One faction can't see the players on the opposite faction's side.

Sorry I am working with the emperor so that makes me imperial i think
