Out of curiosity, is STO down? Was away for vacation and came back and it's not working. :(

I'm having the same problem. either i get stuck on the patching screen, or on the character selection screen. I haven't been able to log in for a week.

Yeah this just started yesterday. I was away for a week. Now STO and TSW hang. Could be a Verizon thing I suppose though I doubt it.

also happened to me a day ago.. I had to right click on the launcher and "run as administrator".

and it works now.. rather than being stuck on patching.

Hmm, I'll give that a try. I tried uninstalling Neverwinter since I was having the same problem with that too and that didn't fix it. TSW finally patched. Gee, I go to Montreal for vacation and I lose STO while I'm away. :)

May be totally unrelated to this but some of us had extreme difficulties being able to log into STO without having to go to options and start in safe mode / run as administrator etc due to having a decent graphics card in our home machines. To permanently fix this in my case I had to go into the gameprefs.pref file and change the following files to my own screen resolution: (Edit: GamePrefs.pref is in live/localdata folder)

PrefEntry GfxSettings.FullScreenHeight 600

PrefEntry GfxSettings.FullScreenWidth 800

Leaving them like this was basically causing my graphics card to have a mini stroke as it couldnt deal with such a low resolution being asked of it. So swapping them to my native resolution:

PrefEntry GfxSettings.FullScreenHeight 1080

PrefEntry GfxSettings.FullScreenWidth 1920

Fixed everything for me and now STO is again good as gold and I dont need to do anything but enter password and click engage again. I think some updates must accidentally write these changes back into prefs file which causes us to have these issues. Note deleting the file and starting the game doesnt fix it automatically as the client writes the 800/600 values as its own default settings.

Yeah, it seems to be an issue with connecting to the updaters. Both Neverwinter and STO are doing the same thing. I cleared up my TSW issue though. :)

Mine stalled at the 'verifying' patch a couple of times, but it eventually loaded.

It seems like the connection to the patch server is getting reset or the connection is timing out from what I can see in the logs. Ping the server and doing a traceroute also indicate from what I can tell an issue between their servers and Verizon FiOS here on the east coast, though I'm not a network expert. This is however, getting to be painfully close to being at work and I'm on vacation until Thursday. :)
