Question about a Story idea

Okay so I have been wanting to write a story for a federation character of mine. However, I wanted to incorporate a Romulan character of mine into the story. I wanted both women to be serving on the same ship but im not sure, with the distrust between the federation and Romulan cultures, how to do that.

Sounds like a cool story idea in the making! I'm not much of a writer myself, so I don't know that I can offer ideas, but maybe there's some inspiration to be found in some of the other fleet fiction that's been written. They can be found over in the Holodeck section of the forums, here:

Not all Romulans were anti-Federation. Some supported unification with Vulcan (see TNG: Unification I & II). There was one time a Romulan sympathizer was given asylum in Federation space. You could always say your captain was one of their descendants.

Read Diane dunes the Romulan Way and you should get a good understanding. There is an aspect of honor but you have to give your last drop of water to your enemy. The Romulans are my favorite track race and I have a good understanding of their culture you have any questions DM me and I'll he happy to help.

Strangely Ive just downloaded for the Kindle, "Rihannsu: The bloodwing Voyages" by Diane Duane.. I think its the trilogy in one book.

Have them all on my book shelf and now you also know the reason why my toon is running around with a gold levelled sword ^_^
