Hello all,

I finally bought a captain retrain token.
I overbalanced everything when I originally bought skills and want to fix it.

I need some ideas on how to spend the skill points.
I want to be capable on the ground with grenades and primarily full-auto rifles.

More so I want to be better at space combat. Primarily dps and survivability. I like flying around like a crazy bumblebee so I would want to skill towards that idea.

I'm totally willing to use a skill planner, but just want some good ideas to start with.

What skills you should use are dependent on what ships your going to use and your toon and how you want to play - ie dps/tank/healing etc..

The best thing to do would be to send in a request to the Shipwrights, in the notes tell them how you want to play etc and they will give you some advice...

I wrote a guide about just this topic with links to resources to figure this out (the link to ryansto's video is particularly good for DPS).

On my toons that are set for space dps, I max out attack patterns, energy weapons, energy weapon specialization, weapons training, warp core efficiency, electro-plasma systems, flow capacitors (for leech), and particle generators (if you're using science damage-inflicting skills).

Also, for survivability and dps, maneuvers, targeting systems, structural integrity, armor reinforcements, impulse thrusters, warp core potential, hull repair, shield emitters, and shield systems are all worth 3 to 9 points depending on what you're doing exactly.

And this isn't to say that the other skills are useless, but it depends more on the rest of your build. The 4 engineering skills that give a bonus to a subsystem are all pretty valuable if you don't have too many other bonuses to subsystem power.

Once I know where the resources are I'm able to use them.
Just difficult for me to search for stuff. Get too overwhelmed.
